One of the many things that I love about the XLR is that to me, it's 2 great cars in one. As much fun as it is to drive with the top down, to me it's a fabulous coupe as well! The character of the car is so different with the top up as opposed to when the top is down.
I have a tendency to drive the car in a conservative manner, because I know there's no way I'm going to talk a state trooper out of a ticket if you're driving an XLR! I tend to drive even more conservatively with the top down.
But the feel of the car as a coupe is completely different to me. The stereo sounds great, and I feel like I'm more able to focus on what the car can really do.
An XLR is really a bargain, you get a great roadster and a fabulous coupe for one price! | Agreed... although I haven't had ANY trouble talking my way out of a ticket. Did it twice on the way back from San Antonio a few years back!!
Wasn't too difficult at all... the troopers seemd to rather enjoy pulling me over - just to see the car closer up! Course, I was going only about 15-20 MPH over the limit... would have probably been a different outcome had I been going faster.
