Exclamation HID Fog Lights

While on the Carolinas trip I noticed a number of the cars had the HID fog light kit installed. Cubby mentioned that there was a thread on here somewhere concerning those who had done this....anyone willing to direct me?

Funny you should mention this. Saturday, while hanging out at the Indy V meet, one of the guys called them "search lights". But they saved my butt when I hit fog coming through the Smokey Mountains Friday night.

How long did it take to install the kit?

I ordered my kit today.

Default install

it took about 20 minutes each side. I used a floor jack and did take the wheel off. I can see how it could possibly be done without.

Hi Hatty....which brand of HIDs did you buy?
I bought some Xentec's on eBay (only $45 including shipping), but have had lots of problems with them breaking....so looking for a new brand to buy.

Default HID fogs

I went with a set from the link earlier in this thread from OmniXAutoSports.com
9045 HID - Xenon Conversion Kit. I was looking at the kits on ebay but not one vendor responded to my question / concern about the focal length and true color of the light. Many times good and cheap do not go together. This set was endorsed by more than one member of the site / club.

My kit came in last week.

Harrisburg, did your kit come with instructions? Mine didn't.

No, mine did not. it is pretty much straight forward. I would call them and request that they email or fax something to you for assistance...
