Help! 2009 grille install on older XLRs

Has anybody else installed the 2009 grille (XLR Premium, not V) on an older XLR, and if so, how did you deal with the lower part of the grille clashing with the older bumper covers. Thanks.

I agree, the grill on the '09 looks great. There is one member who did the conversion, but he did the bumper cover too. Hopefully he will chime in.

Sorry to say that the '09 grille is not a exact match up to the older XLR's. Unfortunately the bumper cover & fog lights have to be changed as well, which amount to quite a few $$...

I tried this awhile ago, and I found that the lower mounting points are different and also the slope of the 09' grilled does not match up properly with the bumper. The body shop the I enlisted to install the grilled got it on, but it looked terrible. The center point of the 09' grille hung over the bumper by about 1/16 of an inch. Like many here have stated, you will have to install the 09' bumper cover in order to have the correct fitment.
