No problem at all Cubby

So after experiencing this issue myself I started to notice a pattern when it was happening. When I started up the car it would not appear but when I put my foot on the brake pedal it would pop up and then go away as soon as I pressed the button on the shifter. Now after reading up on what the messages means it is related to the power train so that leaded me to believe it was something electronic related since the tranny was running smooth and didn't give no problems what so ever. I was also getting problems getting the shifter out of park as well so I decided to remove the center shifter panel and discovered that there was a safety switch that keeps the car in park so you have to press the brake pedal before you can move the shifter. This is a common design and is on my cars to prevent the owners from just moving the shifter without there foot on the brake pedal. I removed this item and tested it noticing it was shorting out which was causing the "Service Vehicle Soon" message to appear. Now I looked up the part and costing $200 I decided to leave it out as I am the only one who drives the car and just have to remember not to move the shifter without my foot on the brake pedal. Easy fix for 2 common problems.
