Come on out to see us, too.

A local Caddy owner has organized what is quite possible the largest second gen CTS-V gathering race in the country to date. Its limited to 20 cars by the track, and have almost all those slots filled. What originally started with some smack talk between two guys with some of the fastest Vs in the country, turned into a shootout/gathering in South Florida. Cars from all over the country will be there to race, most highly-modified.

If any of you that went on the Charleston trip, go to these South FL shows, stop in and see my brother.

Cory is now the General Manager of Smokey Bones in Boca Raton, FL.

If anyone is in his area, he would love for you to stop in!! He enjoyed your visit! He was talking about Gizmo's car, when I saw him last month.

WOW!!! It appears that everything happens next weekend in Florida...
I was planning to check out the Zephyrhills Annual Winter AutoFest. Never been to it before but my Dad speaks highly of it as a fun little event.

We will likely meet there. If anyone else plans to go or is interested let me know....first drink on me! Details below:

Sandy,

Sorry to hear we miss each other once again. I called the AutoFest folks today and I was told there is no open car display or show-off event. The Corral is only for hot vehicles and classics being offered for sale. Therefore I was not planning to take the XLR unless someone else wanted to meet or was looking forward to having XLRs there.
I plan to be at the event Saturday morning for the day. If Steve plans to attend Saturday I will take the XLR and meet him. Any others want to attend with us?

Sorry, did not make myself clear enough. We do not have the XLR here.

We just have our truck and our 69 Buick Station Wagon that Steve had been trying to sell. I say had as he can't seem to make up his mind if he should keep it or sell it it is really a great car car to drive. We were toying with bringing down my 1992 Z-28 Convertible to leave here in Florida but don't have room for two old cars. I guess he needs to make up his mind. I am not sure if he is going Friday or Saturday, he has to drop me off at the airport on Friday morning so there is a good chance he will head there after.

Savannah Dining tip: For a very romantic and wonderful anniversary dinner, go to the Old Pink House... Instead of going up the steps into the main entrance of the restaurant, look to the left.... There are a few unmarked steps that lead to downstairs.. That is where all the locals eat.. It has the same menu as upstairs, but is candle lit, big fire place, brick walls and dark wood... Much more personal than the large dining room...

Happy 23rd!!

Thanks Casey (for the downstairs tip) that was one on the place on our list from our checking out dining place to go to on the internet. We were wondering if anyone has been on the river boat diner cruise? If you or anyone else on the forum has good dining experiences or even must see places in the Savanah area please post them. Thank You all in advance!!!

We go frequently and already have our room booked for our 10th Anniversary in May.

More stuff:

Gryphon Tea Room and Pirate's House are both good. There is a great Thai restaurant on the main street downtown. I can't remember the name of it, but it's good.

We do not care for Lady and Sons (not worth the long wait)

On the road to Tybee, Paula Deen's brother owns Bubba's Oyster House. It is where she used to film one of her shows. The specialty is char-broiled oysters.
Fun fact: just passed Bubba's is a Chevron gas station. In the back room are bootleg slot machines... On many days, you can see Paula Deen playing one of them...

River Street Sweets has fantastic pralines.

My wife loves shopping at The French Market and don't miss out on the basement.. They typically have a lot of neat stuff down there..

We have been on cemetery tours and on the hearse ghost tour, both were enjoyable.

Stroll over to the Mansion at Forsyth Park, for a drink. They have a nice bar and a great atmosphere.

Watch Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, again, before you go..

Have a great time!!
Casey

Thanks!
We had heard that too about Lady & Sons, but that's ok we were not planning to go there! We appreciate all the input from you. I'm positive we will be checking out Bubba's as oysters are one of my favorite's.
When you go in May have 10th Happy Anniversary Too!

Thanks Again!
