We made it home safe and in record time. No stops, 25.9 MPG and an avg. speed of 74.9 MPH!

It is always the best time with you guys. We laughed, we cried, we remembered those who were not able to be with us, and cannot wait until we see each other again.

It always amazes me what started as buying a car, has grown into so much more.

Thank you all,

Bob

We made it, too, finally! I think I set a new fuel milestone with the SnakeBite: 3 stops, 22.6 MPG and avg speed of 67.4MPH (please don't do the math, I refuse to admit the top speed for the trip).

We got a late start because we went to so many antique and resale shops - Every time we turned around we found another shop to go in. The trunk was half full going to Bowling Green and full on the way home.

I made it home just fine, after dropping Devin off at a friend's house on the way home. It was a fun drive home (especially following that BIG 'OLE WHITE CADILLAC)... but I must admit, when this nice silver '96 C4 flew past me, my car just instantly took off after it - after all, isn't that what leads us XLR's most of the time? It sure was fun trying to catch up to Kathy - she too, really knows how to drive her vette!
Thanks for the escort to Indy, you two! Can't wait for the next trip!

We made it home fine as well. I have to say it was GREAT meeting you all! It was nice staying with Angels family, but the next event I make, I plan to get a room and spend more time with the caddy family . Didn't have any vette's to play with on the way home but there wasn't anybody ahead of me very long either! Thanks for making the new guy feel welcome.

I got home a couple of hours ago. Stayed at LinSue's for another night of fun before heading back to Avoca

It was so great to see all you guys - old and new friends. David is jealous. Yeah - I like OUR XLR family reunions way more than those with the in-laws. So, DD says Hi and we'll hope to see some of you at MidOhio in a few weeks!

Thanks Linda, for being such a great traveling companion... but...um, your navigating skills could use a little work I LIKED the scenic route though

Nap time

Well,,,, Rogene and I are finally home. The trip was a lot of fun!!!! (But it's nice to be home too!). With so much of the Missouri River flooding, I-29 North of KC is closed. Had to detour around on some two lane highways. But it was sure funnnn passing all the trucks!!! Even Rogene commented that I had enough power to pass all those trucks!! That shocked me! (usually she says I'm going too fast!!)

Until next trip!!

We made it home as well. Tim (the other XLR from Montana) called me as we left and told me NOT to take I29. So, ended up taking I70 to Denver then up to Montana... around 17 hours on the road Sunday, left at 7AM, bedded down in Oakley, KS at 1AM. Up on the road at 8AM this morning, made it home at 8PM our time. Average 71.5 MPH, 31.2 MPG on the way home!! Made 28.7 MPG on the way down, don't remember my average MPH on the way down.

Diane & I made it home yesterday evening after a stop in Conway Arkansas to see the kids. We had a great time visiting with everybody again and meeting the rest of those that attended. I'm still trying to fit names with faces and cars! It's difficult with so many! We totally missed the Wa Ba (sp?) dinner Saturday evening. We came out of the hotel late and didn's see anyone so relied on the GPS to get us there and instead had a senic drive to the end of a road off I-65 where we encountered a barricade with Stop signs all over it. Was it located behind the barricade? Secret code to get in? Finally gave up and went back to the convention center and attended the cruise in and enjoyed the band in the parking lot. Only one other XLR was there and we did meet some XLR owners that found out about the homecoming, but didn't know about this forum. Al and Pat from Wisconsin were there at the Saturday night cruise in with their infared XLR. I told them about this forum so hopefully they will look us up when they get home.

Cubby & Supa we miss you, hope you are doing OK.

Steven & Diane
