Default National Corvette Homecoming 7/14-7/16/11

http://www.corvettehomecoming.com/

While @ MAM Funfest on Saturday, Joe Pruitt stopped by the MM parking corral & invited our group to Bowling Green, KY. to participate in The National Corvette Homecoming. The XLRs will be on display during the event with their own parking area. This will be the first year that the XLRs will be part of the event. It would be great to have a large number of XLRs show up for this.
I will have more info soon. Check out the link and mark your calenders for July 14-16 2011.

Kevin and I will be there. I think we should try and get as many XLRs there as possible. Many of us have made this trip before and there is no reason why we can't do it again.
I find it an honor that they requested the XLRs to this event now let's make a showing.

I'm with Supa ... it would be great to get a huge turnout for this. This being the first year we are being invited (the handout said this was an "invitation only" event). I love the concept of the XLR's "coming home" to Bowling Green. While not every Corvette was made in Bowling Green - every XLR was. Devin and I are in! Got the calendar already marked.

I just spoke with Joe & he is really working hard to make this a great event for the XLRs. He hopes to have some more info out later this week. I will post the info when I get it. I invited him to join us in Madison next month where we can discuss the event.

I think Joe was pretty impressed with the number of XLR's we had at Bobfest '10 (FunFest). He definitely should join us in Madison (looks like we have a pretty good size group again) so he see's what a terrific group this is. I sure hope the weather cooperates and we can display our cars on the front lawn - that would look great.

Default XLR Owners let's respond to this Invitation!!!

This is the 30th Anniversary of the Corvette Homecoming and Joe Pruitt has taken it upon himself to include the Cadillac XLR's in this celebration. He already has commitments from some of the Cadillac people who were involved with the XLR to be in attendance next year, with possibly more to come. He also has a commitment from Martin Cadillac of Bowling Green to be involved. I'm sure the RII attendees remember what a gracious host they were to us all. He also told us that in reality Friday would be dedicated to the XLR's, and we will also be included in the parade through Bowling Green--complete with police escort!! Joe Pruitt wants this to be a premier event, not only for the Corvettes, but also the XLR. Bowling Green is the birthplace of the XLR; let's make a great showing on the event!!!

OK - I just registered for the show!

I wasn't sure where to register at first - but in looking at the Registration Form, there is an OPEN SHOW registration for $20 (includes invite to VIP event - which I think is the Touch of Glass event and all weekend pass). Get registered early everyone. And get your hotel reservations in!

Great to hear. Joe is really trying to get as many of us XLRs there as possible. He is truely working at making us feel like part of this. I do hope we as a group do not let him down. Some of us have made this trip before no reason we can't do it again.

I just found out from Joe Pruitt that the Registration form is NOT updated yet (you are correct Kevin)... he is hoping to have it updated shortly (the cost is $25, not $20) for the XLR owners to register. I will let you all know when he confirms with me that the form is updated (make sure you get on Corvette Homecoming's email list - to keep updated on the event).

We'll keep you posted... but you can still go ahead and make your HOTEL reservations - so you don't have to sleep in your car while down there.
