Some owners of a 2004-08 XLR or Corvette may comment that the inside door handle release button switch will not release either the driver or passenger door. Verify that the door lock is not on. Further investigation will show that the door will function from the release handle/cable on the floor next to the inside rocker panel. This may be the result of
a stuck Exterior Door Handle Switch (touch pad) on the outside of the vehicle's door.

Monitor the status of the Exterior Driver or Passenger Door Handle Switch. This data can be viewed using the Tech 2 in the Driver and/or Passenger door module. If the status displays Active when the switch is NOT being depressed, inspect and repair any associated wiring.

If no trouble is found with the wiring, replace the Exterior Door Handle Switch as necessary.
