Stupid simple question but how much tire PSI on xlr v

Tires will have the safe maximum PSI inflation for the tire, not for the car. Cadillac suggest 30 PSI all around for ride and handling. I have found that running the fronts at 32 and the rears at 34 help the handling, taking out some understeer, and improving response. In any case I would not go...

    Gas

It wouldn't replace anything, just add to my small fleet. Right now I commute in a Silverado and pay around $300 a month for gas. If I put that money towards the Volt, and with my commute it would be all battery, then recharge at work, basically it washes out, For me, that makes more sense than...

    Gas

Leasing a Volt for 3000 down and 298 a month is starting to look pretty good. Bruce

    Nanotechnology finish for our car

Sounds like snake oil to me. Think about how hard that would have to be to never pick up minute scratches in 5 years of use. There is something that sounds similar, Cilajet "which was designed for aircraft", good hard shine, resistant to chemicals, but it doesn't give you a shine like reasonable...

On the hoist out in the shop for surgery

I never got out to measure my ride height, but if your tires were under the fender lip that is definitely low. Good luck with getting it fixed. Bruce

Thanks, I saw a few of these, apparently 04 & 05 have a different number. Looks like I have a lead on one now (towards the end of March), I'll keep you posted. I appreciate the help though. Bruce

    WYB Suspension Module, P/N 10348979

Gizmo, Thank you for the info. Good thing it was slow at work today, I spent the better part of the day hunting. Guess I'm also lucky the president of the company is also a car guy. I found one part for $788, a whopping 30% over MSRP, so I think I'll give Rippy a call tomorrow. Thank you again...

    WYB Suspension Module, P/N 10348979

Anyone have any idea if this part (10348979) has been upgraded or superseded? It strikes me as really odd Cadillac would not have any of these fairly important components available nationwide. Is it a temporary shortage, or has it been discontinued? Cadillac? Anyone. Bruce

    WYB Suspension Module, P/N 10348979

Interesting, I got excited because both GM Parts Direct and GM Parts Giant show the part in stock. I call to order and they tell me it's special order. So I'm still looking if anyone has one available. Bruce

    Help! Engine

It's a Northstar, totally different than a LS1 or LS2. Northstar is a DOHC motor. D3 does a lot of work to them, but do some reading first. Some guys tune these motors for sand rails too. There are some go fast parts available, but nothing like the LS aftermarket.

Help! Trunk wont open or close

I posted some pictures of the area in this thread, post #15. https://www.xlr-net.com/forums/cadillac-xlr-technical-discussion-33/electrical-gremlins-whole-family-5705/

Yes, this has been discussed before, but it bears repeating. Just so it is really clear how easy this to check, and how expensive it is to repair I'm posting a few pics. This area is just inside your trunk, it's that easy to check. I have the carpet pulled back because I have to remove two...

    WYB Suspension Module, P/N 10348979

WTB Suspension Module, P/N 10348979 Right now (Saturday) it appears the Suspension Module is on National back order, or there may be a superseding part number. If you have the part, or a newer number I would appreciate the info, or buy your part. This is for a 2005 XLR. Thanks, Bruce

    electrical gremlins, the whole family...

Yeah, I'm kicking myself for not paying more attention, except I thought I was special as I never drive the XLR in the rain. Well, I parked it in the rain in a rush. The drain was plugged by the back half of a broken off plastic snap. I'm cleaning connectors, and bought a new Folding Top Module...

    electrical gremlins, the whole family...

Okay, thanks to a great mechanic, a Tech 2 and some research we found the problem. We got the car talking again, but still had no communication to the Suspension Control Module. We thought we had it isolated, but the top still wasn't working. SCM operates on LAN2 (high speed), the top was...

Still looking. Think I have it narrowed down between the two modules. Could be a ground though, just haven't figured it out yet. Thanks for the thought. Bruce

Making progress, pulling fuse 11 & cycling it restored RKE communication, but when running it is still throwing lots of error codes and keeps losing comm to the RKE and suspension module. At least it starts again. Bruce

    electrical gremlins, the whole family...

Well it would not even let the Tech 2 communicate with the computers. No Comm was the error, both fobs, even in the receptacle in the glove box. Two different car batteries, the original and the Red Top. I'm open to suggestions, and my mechanic is digging deeper into the schematics. Bruce

    electrical gremlins, the whole family...

Wow, so many problems, but I suspect they are all related. The saga began with a dead battery, so I put in an Optima red top and put it on the tender. Fresh battery seemed to run & start, still throwing codes on the DIC, I assumed from low voltage. So last Friday I'm going to drive car, so...
