Would be cool if someone much smarter than I hacked the HUD and we could add the temp in there where the radio info used to display.
As far as having my iPhone on me, no, the FM and reverse camera would still work, but it is fairly useless. The idea of the AppRadio is to be an extension of...
shift linkage part #12569499 fits 04-05 year models if your dealership can find one. Quick research says it can be shifted at the tranny from the rear under the car. Here is a thread from several yrs back on another forum that a couple active members from here were responding too over there...
Time no, but if the ext temp is displayed on the radio, then yes. I have a weather radar app I can display on the screen it I am too curious about it...
Here is the full thread on the install incd part numbers and process. The Bose amp, On-Star, chime, and adaptive cruise all function as original. Some people thought it was sacrilege to change the head-unit, but I am enjoying the benefits of a much more modern and updated system with no...
Install went great, and now that I have been using it for several weeks on a daily basis, I do really like it. I have learned a few things about how I use it:
If I am just jumping in and headed to the store or even sometimes to and from the office, I don't take the time to plug in my iPhone...
Yes, everything done can be undone in less than an hour to go back to the stock unit since none of the factory wiring harnesses or mounting plates are modified. The only soldering work is in making the adapter harness (pigtail) that goes from the factory harness to the radio. You buy the female...
Looks like someone has changed the factory grill, painted the rear calipers, and added a windscreen. Definately check for signs of water or leakage including the replacement (or excessive cleaning) of the rear trunk linkers and cubbies. Good luck and wishing you miles of smiles.
Just an opinion...
Personal opinion based on having owned mine less than 3 months, but also having owned 40+ vehicles in the past (including an H2 I really enjoyed but my GF called it my school bus because it was big and bright yellow) I don't think it is any more or less reliable than any...
THANK YOU!!!!! WOW...I really thought I was loosing my mind. I could not figure out what I had left undone when reassembling the dash. ...and yes, I am carrying the new one, #3.
Just have to share... While I was building my XLR, I kept seeing a beautiful silver '09 over in my part of town driven by an attractive older professionally dressed woman with Florida plates. Once I finally got mine finished, I have not seen it again. Well on my way home from work last...
Does anyone happen to know the location of the module that control/configures/stores the personal option settings? I was playing with all the buttons when I first bought her, and I went through all the options via the DTC. I randomly pressed the options button yesterday and it displayed...
I am seriously considering picking up the Tech2 clone. Doesn't seem like you have experienced any issues with the functionality. I did break down and buy a set of shop manuals already....now I just need something to read the codes.
I LOVE my XLR and the miles of smiles are worth it all. That being said, I have only owned mine for a few months and have not experienced any real issues either and hope it stays that way
