Newbie rebuilding a Xenon Blue '05

Thank you! I feel welcomed already and am happy to contribute. I am enjoying this vehicle more than I have enjoyed any vehicle in quite some time. Still can't wipe the grin off my face and it's been a couple weeks...

For those of you with the Volant cold air intake...

Well, I get the same thing still. P0102 which is the Mass Air Flow sensor and it is on cold starts, runs rough, and it comes up and tells me to Service Traction Control System. I can turn it off and restart it a couple times and let it idle and it will smooth out and go away. I can clear the...

    Important! FOB

I had the dealer cut a spare bumper key for me. I then took a small rectangle of stainless and painted it flat black on the front and used gorilla glue and a clamp to adhere it to an unspecified vertical location possibly under the right rear of the XLR. Now my spare rear bumper key fits in a...

These are the ones currently in the XLR, but since I did not install them, I cannot speculate on the configurations. With the Scoshe modules I have a direct dealer help line. GMOS-06 GMOS-06 [GMOS-06] Axxess Integrate, Comprehensive Interface Products PAC TR7 Pac-Audio.com Product Details |...

    AppRadio 4

The install used the factory mounting cage and the filler plates from the double-din install kit. I will take some pics of the sides the next time I open it up. Within the next couple days I am going to replace the HDMI cable I had on hand with a smaller diameter more flexible HDMI that is...

Newbie rebuilding a Xenon Blue '05

So...has anyone wondered what it would be like to replace the dash in an XLR? I don't recommend it, but if you have any questions about how to do so...just ask me. But...totally worth it...

    AppRadio 4

Now for my thoughts on the AppRadio 4. The integration with Siri makes the other minor frustrations tolerable. If you use an iPhone, you know what I mean. With the handsfree ability to send txts, place and receive calls, and navigate, I am quite productive on my daily commute to and from the...

Ok...finally home and have a few minutes to write down my initial thoughts. First a few pics of the final install with the new dash: Now for the disclaimer. The below pics of the module that currently function flawlessly integrated into this XLR were not installed by me. The original...

    My XLR arrived this evening!

Nice! I will be getting another one before fall. I think I want another JKU, but I am not sure yet. We do more overlanding than mudding so I am thinking about building another Commander.

    My XLR arrived this evening!

SWEET! Those are beautiful. I too have had a ton of Jeeps from CJ-5s, LJ's, and now the JKUs. Had a Commander too, and really enjoyed that for a road/travel vehicle. Here are a few pics of the last several builds. For the past several years I have built them in pairs...one for me and one...

    My XLR arrived this evening!

I have sold off most of mine too. I usually go though 4-5 cars a year and keep 3-6 around depending on time of year. Currently I only have a Boulevard M109R and building an SC430 for the girlfriend. The last truck I built was a '70 C-10 with a 502 RamJet under the hood with full air...

For those of you with the Volant cold air intake...

...ok...never mind. I found my issue. I raised my hood and could hear a vacuum/sucking coming from my intake hose. Sure enough, the corrugated rubber hose was mushed down below and allowing air to bypass the MAS giving incorrect signals...and bypassing my airfilters :pat:. Solved, fixed...

For those of you with the Volant cold air intake...

As you know, I just completed a frond end rebuild on my Xenon Blue '05. Having never driven an XLR before, I chose to replace the factory air boxes (slightly damaged) with a Volant. Now having driven her a few days, I keep getting trouble codes stating low voltage on my MAS. Has anyone else...
