Which did you get? I was having a hard time finding one that I was reasonable sure would work. AL_Jazz mentioned a Metra one but there are a bajillion models and none of them mention the XLR.

Oh very cool. Also, what sort of double din/dash kit do you recommend to get the correct trim plates?

Had a thought… does the "voice command" button on the steering wheel work to activate Siri?

Just a slightly heavier duty component. It's probably masturbatory at best and Ray notes as much on the page, but I figured for the small difference I may as well get it. Road trip update: 4 hours and 300 miles down. Another 2800 or so miles to go!

Premium is just a "nicer" connector. From what I understand the module still has to be there because that's what tells the head unit to show the "XM" band, no? I tried hooking it up and didn't see the XM band when I did, though I didn't try restarting the car.

I arrived in FL to pick up my new-to-me '05 today, and realized with horror that my assumption that it had XM was wrong, and I was in fact thinking of my grandfather's DTS, not my grandmother's XLR. So I'm road tripping back to California with an FM transmitter, and I'll be installing an...

Great, thanks. I'll probably go with the scosche units anyway but curiosity is a weakness of mine :)

Great! do you have the model #s for the other PAC modules, out of curiosity?

Ok, cool. Does it look like a use case for a universal double-DIN chassis or do you expect any custom stuff needs to be done?

Looks like most of the attachments imploded… Is the basic theory that we need a module for Class2, GMLAN, and the steering wheel controls? When you mentioned Scosche I did some research, it looks like GM28SR | by Scosche might be useful for this, but I'm not sure if you need both the GM...

    1300 mile trek

Fun times… I'm flying down to FL this weekend to pick mine up, a bit over 3,000 miles to get her home, increasing the mileage on the car by 10%

Misc thoughts: Push-button stop, Devil keyfob, shifting and walmart.

Bumping an old thread I know, but this is too good not to share. My beloved grandmother left me her XLR when she passed recently, and my uncle has been using it occasionally to keep the battery up while we wait for me to fly to FL to pick it up (next weekend, FINALLY). The first time he went...

Can the passenger seat be moved forward to temporarily store things behind it?

Oh for sure. Ironically while I'm the second owner of the car and haven't picked it up yet, I've put on around 12,000 of the 30,000 or so miles on it. It was my grandmother's car, and I used to ferry it between her winter and summer homes for her!

Can the passenger seat be moved forward to temporarily store things behind it?

Hey guys, Bizarre question but I'm flying to pick up my car at the end of next week and have to pick up some old family photos to bring back as well. Since they're likely too large to put in the divided cargo area I'm trying to find a way to drive with the photos but be able to put the top...
