“Almost good” HUD or Amp wanted

As winter is upon us, I’m looking for projects. I’ve been wanting to hack the class 2 bus to improve stereo integration, but don’t want to “brick” my car while learning how it works.

Might anyone have an HUD module that mostly works, but has cosmetic problems, motor problems, or something similar that you’d let go cheap?

Maybe a non-working (or semi-working) BOSE amp? Again, free or cheap counts here...
