I told the garage I deal with , that I wanted my DEXCOOL flushed and changed. He said,"do youwant DEXCOOL, or GM DEXCOOL?" are there two?"?? If so, "which one should he use?," Or is there only GM brand DEXCOOL"?

Well, I see that Prestone Dexcool is made to the same standards; So they say- and it's a lot cheaper than the GMDexcool. What say you know??

GM and most other manufacturers don't make their own anti-freeze... Prestone probably makes all the Dex-Cool regardless of whether it says GM or Prestone, etc on the jug.

Same goes for other fluids, such as oil.

Thank you, pure zen!!
You are exactly right! Where was my thinking? All these companies "Out Source" all those type of products.

Gm only makes the original cars, and the original parts for the cars they make! They don't make oil. gas, anti freeze, or any other additives!!
