Fall Drive '10?

I'm thinking of a fall trip this year around Gatlinburg area and/or Chattannooga area which will include 'The Dragon' I'm thinking mid Sept. or Oct....more later. I'm sure we will be talking next weekend about future trips.

So Cubby, any more thought about a drive down to Gatlinburg/Chattannooga area? We'll have to squeeze it in between all of our other "social" activities we have going on this year. Mid October might be a good time (maybe Columbus Day weekend (Oct. 9-11).

I'll start checking on it. I just need to check with my buddy in that area to make sure there aren't any car shows going on in that area, as the traffic gets terrible to navigate thru when these are happening. October would be a great time--we'll be able to see the changing colors.

Thanks for the info Ken, it is hectic in that area if something big is going on. I've been there a couple times during the Rod show and it tough to get anywhere with all the traffic. We may chose your area and then head back home through the Gatlinburg area, so we can hit the 'Tail of the Dragon'. We'll have to make this a 'long weekend' trip as it's about 9-10 hours from Chicago to get down to you. I'll keep in touch with our decision.

Ok, just thought I'd re-animate this topic because, and don't hold me to this, we do have a date picked out and an area picked out now? Once someone else see's this, they will probably give better information then I have right now. The Fall Drive of '09 was the very first event I went to with these people, and it has gotten addicting, lol, once you go, you will be hooked. I personally would love to see a ton of people come on this year's fall drive!

The Paddlewheel building is a seperate building on the property with 24 rooms. This might make a nice option for our noisey group. The main building has a bar and serves breakfast. They said we may be able to display our cars on the large front lawn that faces the river (weather permitting).

I hope we have another big turn out for this. For those that are coming to this event please take a look at the area. We might want to stay around Madison on Sunday to look at the town. We have done this drive a few times and I would like to see Madison. It looks like a beatiful little town. Input is welcomed.

I just made our reservation for Saturday October 23rd @ the Riverboat Inn for the Paddlewheel building. I spoke with Diane (812 265 2361). I got a 2nd story king room, riverview side. When calling, mention that you are with the Cadillac car club.

Event dash plaques

I just spoke with Jim in CO who will be doing our dash plaques again for this event, and I'm waiting to see the what he can do... it should look great. Let me know if you plan on attending, so I can make sure to get enough dash plaques ordered.
