Last month on the drive back from San Diego to Colorado with The XLR I got stopped for speeding on I-15 just outside of St George Utah headed N.E. at around 9:25 P.M. Had just gotten dark out. Just as I came out of an area with winding canyon roads, speed limit 55 MPH, I saw a sign ahead about 80 yards that said 75 MPH and began accelerating. The flashing lights came on behind me! Darn! :dunno: I pulled over ASAP on the shoulder. The Police officer was very polite and I was to him. --- Do you know how fast you were going? --- Me, Nope. :( --- Him, "70 MPH in a 55 zone". I pointed out the 75 MPH speed limit sign 80 yards in front of me which was right next to the sign that said "Welcome To Utah". I gave him my license and vehicle paperwork and waited. When he came back to the car he said, "I am giving you a warning ticket. The speed limit isn't 75 MPH until you get to the sign. Watch your speed."

As I checked into my hotel in St. George I took the map with me and then examined the Warning Ticket. Turns out when I was stopped I was in Arizona. The police officer was Utah Highway Patrol. Yup, 80 yards out of his jurisdiction! :)
