Huge Chevrolet collection up for auction

The article states that he owns one of every year Corvette produced, with the exception of a 1991, which he inadvertently sold.

Wonder if he has a 1983 model? :D

No, he doesn't have an '83. There weren't any '83 models sold to the public. All of the pre-production cars that were built were destroyed but one that was saved by plant employees and now resides in the NCM.

Bruce do you remember when they were going to demolish that wharehouse and they found all those corvettes many were brand new covered with dust. I cant remember what State may have been chicago or neww York. Was these Corvettes part of that? If not do you remember anything about it as to what happen to all of them?

I know you noticed the "grinning" emoticon after my question.

I was surprised that the article didn't mention the "1983 issue".

I assumed that the Corvette people would know this, but I wondered how many XLR folks knew this bit of trivia! :)

If any '83 Corvettes would have been for sale, I'm sure Bob would have owned atleast one. There was a debate for many years as to how many were built and how many survived. Thankfully one did survive. The original '83 wheels were discovered about 8 years ago and were reunited with the car @ the NCM. They are the only set of '83 wheels known to exist.

That collection has been moved. Jalponik was keeping tract of it for a while. Totally different from these cars.
