Hey,

Am looking to get shocks all around for my V. Cost wise it was a 50 K+ summer, with house costs and cannot do the GM OEM ones, even if available. What do you all think of the Chinese ones which have the actual plug in points for the mag shock? Want to avoid the warning fault message/do not exceed speed warning . and do not want to have to do those simulators either. For the money, I am sure that they may be good clone appearance but are probably just gas shocks. Do the Chinese shocks have an internal circuit to stop the warning? Any one with experience with these?

I was curious and i have a chinese set on my car to try out... I have put about 500miles on them... I would say they "work fine"... they have built in simulators so no warnings... but I find them a soft for my V - so soft that in aggressive 60+mph moves the rear end was way too lose.... however, for a cruiser I think they were very comfortable.

I ended up ordering some GM shocks and I plan on swapping them out since I drive pretty spirited most of the time and prefer a firmer ride.

Bottom line - the chinese shocks work fine if you like a soft ride, no codes, great value, and if you remove the stickers they look OE. But I do not know of their longevity - but for the price you can replace them multiple times for the same cost of a set of GM units.

Good luck!
