New to the XLR, have an 04 base, do I need to get a tech 2 if I plan on keeping and maintaining this, and where do you find all of the programming information. Is it pretty easy to operate, or should I take it in for service when needed. thanks in advance.

There's a fairly large learning curve to using it, but it proved invaluable to me. Every time I relearned the top I saved at least 150$ at the dealer. Adding keys to the car is much easier..
Lot of youtube stuff.
As to the software, the chinese knockoff I got 5 years ago had software for almost ALL GM cars/trucks up to 2013.
The TECHII is a powerful tool, go slow, don't change stuff just to be changing the settings. You'll be ok

Thanks for the reply, what would cause you to need to do a re-learn, and does the Tech 2 come with something that would walk you through that. All I’ve ever done is read and reset the codes.

thanks again
