Most of you know I replaced the stock head unit with a Kenwood Nav unit last year. Don't regret it one bit. Hell of a Nav/DVD/HD Radio/Bluetooth/SD/ unit. I've fumbled around with a couple of different things to hold my phone especially when I've got Android Auto running. Ran across this thing on Amazon over the weekend and it came in today. It fits in the stock CD slot with a swivel ball mount with a magnetic mounting pad. You put a thin metal disc on the back of your phone and it's a pretty rock solid mount. I was thinking about making a mount myself with some thin aluminum plate, but this was worth a try.

I installed a USA-SPEC PA15-VETTE unit in my car to run an iPod through so I no longer had a need for the built-in CD player. I purchased a CD slot smartphone mount called GRIP CD by Premier at Wal-Mart which works very well. It grips the sides of the phone and does not use a magnetic mount.
