Subject Express Window Up Feature Inop After Using Retractable Roof.
Models 2009 Cadillac XLR Platinum and V-Series

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may comment that the express window up feature is inoperative after cycling the retractable roof. The express window up feature is a function of the retractable roof switch. On prior model year XLR’s, after the roof has completely closed, the roof switch can be pressed a second time and both driver and passenger windows will express up to a closed position. This feature was eliminated on 2009 and future model year XLRs due to new Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (MVSS) requirements. This will typically be a concern expressed by customers that owned a prior model year XLR who now own a 2009 model year vehicle.

Recommendation/Instructions:

This is normal operation. DO NOT make any repair attempts for this concern.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
