The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Condition/Concern:
Some customers may state that the vehicle will start without depressing the brake pedal and/or the shifter is difficult to move from the park position. This also may be followed by a ABS light with a DTC C0161. The customer may state that the concern happened after the vehicle was in for service for a brake switch or Body Control Module repair.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Brake pedal position sensor calibration must be performed after the brake pedal position sensor or Body Control Module (BCM) have been serviced. When performing the brake calibration, if the brake pedal is depressed while performing the procedure, the symptoms listed above may occur. When performing a brake pedal position sensor calibration, it is critical that the steps listed in SI are followed.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
