    Center-mount backup camera

@warlws Very nice job so far! That trunk release button is a good idea, especially with the lighted one! I am busy as heck right now on another car project (my 55 Nomad, MUCH easier to work on, and worth much more than any XLR). But in future, I may want to pursue a new Stereo and Backup Camera...

    Center-mount backup camera

Looks nice. Did you cut the original trim pc for the angle toward the climate controls? Just like most new stereo units, I don't see any knobs. It is at least nice to have a volume knob. Put a Jensen and Kenwood in some of my other vehicles, and they both had volume knobs.

    Center-mount backup camera

wardlws Nice job on this Camera. What Stereo did you use, and how hard was that to get mounted? Have any pictures of that? Thanks, CY

Max Din Display for the XLR

@thebluemax I'll keep following this and see where it goes. Maybe once a few of these are out there, installed and working well, then more interest will come. For me, right now and always it is much easier to take apart, modify and work on my 50's-60's cars! Not near as complicated and don't...

Max Din Display for the XLR

Nice video and explanation from Knights on this. Based on it being an "aftermarket part", color match is not bad. The OEM silver "texture" would be hard to duplicate and add even more costs. Should not bother people, as long as the unit fully functions. Physical buttons are always nice, and...

    Interior Colors

I recently came across an ad for this product. Sounds good when you read all the info but have not tried it yet. Wondering if anyone has tried this yet? My seats are Shale, and have the "usual leather wear", so was thinking of dying or using something like this product to make them look a bit...

    Thanks much Robert!

    Rescued a 2005 XLR

Thanks for the comments! Yes, Nomad was a good deal but have had lots to fix and improve on it, based on it being a $200K car when the previous owner paid to have it done. I like doing some of the work to it though, as I can do that and keeps my fabrication skills in practice! Prior to getting...

    Rescued a 2005 XLR

@wardlws Thanks, 55 Nomad has been nice project for the past year. Not out lots of money though, I bought the car on Bring a Trailer last year, was the winning bidder. It was a "finished car", where the previous owner only had the car a year, paid a shop over $200K to build it then decided to...

    Rescued a 2005 XLR

@wardlws Nice you found out what the Box and controls were for and that you can control the brightness of the added Wind Screen. Sounds like it would look neat at night for sure! I stick to just "cosmetic stuff' on my XLR, as I am so afraid of taking panels off and possibly breaking clips that...

    Rescued a 2005 XLR

Looks like a pretty nice car for a "Salvage". Have no idea what that box could be, maybe try to trace the wires from it? Good luck, hope it works good for you. So far, my 2005 is working good, all function, don't drive it much, has 53K miles on it.

    Battery Terminal Relocation

Good idea. On all my older classic cars, I usually put in remote charging posts since I hid my batteries. with all the electronics in an XLR, good to do this. I have not yet, I just keep hood unlatched and hoo0k up trickle charger when not using it. This idea would be good solution too.

    Show Us Your XLR

Can't see half or more of the pics, and ones you can see have crap written over top of them. What is up with this "Photo Bucket" garbage?? How are us members supposed to see the pics in the posts???

Proud new owner of a 2006 XLR V (red)

Very Nice! Glad you got the car that was your grandfather's and will take care of it. These are rare cars for sure, especially the one you got now!
