I've installed a Volant cold air intake system in my 2006 base XLR. I have the OEM intake system for sale with 2 Air Raid filters that I bought 3 years ago. Asking $350 for everything to cover my Volant cost and shipping to you.
Volant air intake system
I'm now a month or so into the new Volant cold air intake system, and still noticing more throttle response and acceleration, along with that great sound. Gas mileage has not improved. And, at least for now no MAS sensor issues or a code problem showing up.
Still...
Has anybody had any experience with this company out of Alton, Illinois that advertises on E-bay that they can refurbish your XLR taillight for $699.99. Of course you have to send it to them, and if it needs a power supply, that's another $200.00.
I might be interested in the driver's side rear tail light assembly, if it's in good shape. Let me know if it is and what you might want for it. Pictures would be apreciated.
Ok folks, so last weekend me and a buddy of mine with much more mechanical knowledge than me changed out the stock air filter system on my 2006 base model XLR with a Volant cold air intake system. The price I paid was $317.00. It was a whole lot easier than we had expected. I had in 2015...
Rob, thanks so much for doing this, although I had to get out my deceased grandfather's magnifying glass to help my old eyes. Now the real question is how many of these parts can one even get or find any more?
Now this is a great idea. Unfortunately, I've never seen an XLR in an auto junk yard. That said, perhaps someone will, and if so, that someone should post that on this forum. That way others who might need a part or two can contact that individual who bought the XLR, or the junk yard where it...
Spotting XLRs
We live in San Antonio, and so far I've seen only another black XLR, and one red one at Willie's hamburger place about a week ago. So who are you out there?
Anyone interested in getting together with other XLR owners in the San Antonio, TX area, or is there already some kind of club already that I don't know about?
CC, being new to the forum, maybe I need to get more familiar with terms, acronyms, etc. So give me some help on what PM means? What I'm looking for is something I can throw on the XLR like on weekends, or when I may need a quick cover for a few hours or few days. It's not likely I'd ever be...
Jim, thanks for the reply. By the way, I thought I was seeing things when I saw your reply. Why? Because my uncle, who is the only other person that I know that owns an XLR, and who was instrumental in talking me into getting mine (which wasn't hard, since I've always loved this vehicle) is...
I'm a new XLR owner, and would like to get some feedback on a good car cover. As usual, resort to the Internet produces overload, eyestrain, and an Exedrin headache. Thanks.
