I did the same thing, a lot of testing inside my garage. Not enough light to disable the headlights suggested popup. Lol . We don't have switchbacks, but at least we got nice led bulbs and cool amber DRL.

I don't think you can override the adaptive cruise control. I'm sure if you remove the radar sensor the system stops working altogether.

Mine are LED and working, but they are only Amber. Which makes sense since the original wiring implies only a single filament ever gets power. The white never gets any power with our sockets. I've got all the other bulbs in the headlights working. All replaced with new LEDs..side markers are good, parking lights are good, fog lights good, etc. I had to turn a few around to get the "polarity" correct for the LEDs. I'm trying to remember if I ever actually saw the switchbacks working...
