    Compression test procedure

Transmission fill procedure and then check procedure. Check to be done when trans temp is between 86-122 degrees F, check plug torque spec is 25Nm.

    Compression test procedure

I’ll be doing this job soon myself. Transmission service. It calls for removing the transmission mount nuts: there are four, torque spec is 50Nm.

    Compression test procedure

Diff fluid replacement…. And interestingly enough the service manual does call for 2.12 quarts (2 liters) of Dexron LS gear oil

    Compression test procedure

Adding some context, as Mickey observed there are some part number supercessions, for historical reference and searchability. Manual in car calls for 75w90 12378261 meeting GM spec 9986115; and 4oz limited slip additive 1052358. In attached chart, they show 89021677 and same limited slip...

    Compression test procedure

Got you fam. Gimme a day or two on the procedures, I’ll note that I’d personally avoid flushing the trans for me it’s just a pan drop fluid and filter change. The info about fluids we do have here: Post in thread 'Compression test procedure' Compression test procedure

    Help! Ignition system testing help

I recognize this is an extension of the conversation that started on the other thread. Disclaimer - I personally have not serviced an XLR ignition system so part of what I’ll say is only my experience in other coil on plug engines. I have seen the boots be the point of failure, usually if they...

    Compression test procedure

Charge air cooling system is a little bit more involved, it has you using the tech2 to cycle the electric pump.

    Compression test procedure

Cooling system pretty straightforward. The steps cut off from second photo are just “let engine cool, top off coolant if necessary, inspect for leaks.”

    Compression test procedure

Great questions. PS system info attached. I’ll get the cooling system info next, and follow Mickey’s advice for the coils/boots.

    Compression test procedure

So here are the relevant tidbits, for calipers, pads & rotors. Fronts: nothing fancy, regular dual piston calipers. Mounting bracket to hub is 175Nm. Clean the mating surface of the hub where it meets the rotor, while you have it off. Caliper guide pin bolts are 31Nm and the banjo bolt is...

    Compression test procedure

This one I do have in PDF form - owners manual does a good job with this. Page 6-92 for capacities and 7-11 for specifications (including part numbers). The oil spec was superseded by Dexos1 Gen3.

    Compression test procedure

Haha I know that feeling! I’ll look them up. It’s tricky as I can’t get pdf’s, just old school screen shots as you see. Do you have a tech2 you’ll be using for ABS bleed? Edit - and do you have a pressure bleeder of some sort?
