Stella,
We owned the car about 6 months before all of this happened, no real issues before this, and the insurance company is refusing to pay out... their opinion is its mechanical failure due to lack of a physical strike on the body itself. They have completely ignored the tech who did the...
the insurance company has made their decision, they believe mechanical failure due to no damage from a direct strike. I find it highly unlikely that Approx 30 Modules burnt out at once without some sort of outside influence. The tech is XLR certified and his opinion is lightening was the cause...
Thanks for all the well wishes... The Tech that's been working on the car said a body strike is highly un likely due to it being composite (meaning no visual damage), But a near ground strike while the XLR is sitting on wet ground or a puddle is likely what happened.. Honestly if the...
Ben,
Well, the car finally went to the dealership, the Body control module was burnt as well as the receiver... I paid to replace the module and receiver. At that point the tech could communicate with the rest of the car, and every module is burnt out, none are returning any sort of...
I plan on using Integrity Buick GMC Cadillac in Chattanooga, TN. They are about 30 miles from me (closest dealer) and I checked and was told they have 2 XLR trained techs.. so hopefully I can get the quality service this car needs..
The car has just been sitting with the battery on the tender, never got it to start.. just waiting for the right financial time to have it towed to the stealership :dunno:
Yea I believe it not recognizing the Fob is the root of everything.. once I open the door the alarm goes off and everything gets immobilized.. basically cut off at the knees.. cant even do the fob reprogramming at that point..
yea.. still shouldent i get a "No Fob Found" prompt on the DIC if the fob is not programmed? next step is definitely the dealership though.. im going insane..
Car will not come out of Park, is this the same with everyone? Im not looking forward to it being drug in park onto a flatbed to get to...
Ok so another 30 minute cycle and im timing things now.. hooked up the battery and the alarm sounded for 30 seconds then stopped.. start button gave me a red light bottom left corner of it.. when I pus the start button for either start or accessory mode i hear clicky clickity clickity behind the...
So im back at it.. had the battery unhooked from the car but on the tender for a few days.. showed full charge, hooked it back up, and the alarm goes off.. for about 90 seconds the horns honking.. I did get a green light on the start button, but nothing more than that... I unhooked the...
LOLOL thanks for all the comments and Help.. and the Biggest issue I have is i am a GM man... The Club Coupe is SBC powered.. and I got my girlfriend out of her Ford (shes from a Ford family) into the XLR.. and it has so much tested my faith in GM with this whole ordeal.. I hope I can get some...
the car doesn't recognize anything, tried 2 batteries in the car, 3 batteries in the FOB, tried reprogramming the fob with the 5 turns in the hidden key hole to no avail.. the DIC will not come up with anything. If it simply didn't recognize the FOB i would get "No Fob Found".. it will not go...
