I recently had to replace the inside door release switch, and I broke my door panel puddle light cover. It was actually already broken from a previous owner, but I can't get my CA glue to keep the broken tab on there.
So, I had some time to mock up a 3D printed door panel courtesy lamp lens...
To my dismay... it was indeed the inside door release button! I'm a bit dumbfounded by the design here. It seems like the car has two separate circuits that go through the switch: one to lower the window an inch, and a second circuit to release the door latch! So, it may very well be... one...
Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about your father, but glad to hear that you are taking care of his cars.
If the battery is completely dead, just change it out for another one. There shouldn't be any damage from replacing the battery. You might lose your radio or seat/memory settings...
Yep, I've tried holding the inside button. The window stays an inch down so long as I hold the button. To me, this sounds like the interior release button is working.
Has anyone had any similar issues with the inside button lowering the window and not unlatching the door?
You don't need a four digit code... Just go back to the dealership (Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, etc.) and bring proof of ownership of the car. I recommend bringing the Title in your name, but you might be ok with an insurance card...
This one has me stumped...
My driver door interior latch release button only works 1 out of every 5-10 tries. I don't think it is the button itself, since it will lower the window an inch every time.
The outside door latch button works every time (both lowering the window and releasing the...
What happened? Do you need the exact one... or something you can use for parts/pieces? I have a red connector that you would need to grind off the alignment tabs that are in a different place than the white one. I can remove the wires and pins, or if you need all of them, I can include more...
I didn't do any sanding, and probably should have. I watched some videos of people spraying tail lights, and they didn't do any sanding. I washed with soap and water, then a self-drying alcohol swipe. I should have noticed during this cleaning that there was a spot that had some rubbing /...

Looks like you need to remove the rear compartment to get to it....
I bought an Outdoor Car Cover from Coverland: Cadillac Xlr Car Cover │ 10-Year Warranty │ Custom Fit │ 100% Weatherproof
It does the job of keeping the rain and sun off the car, but I'm not very happy with it.
Pros:
Great UV and Rain protection
Venting to let out any trapped moisture
Cons...
I was able to record logs, but I can't figure out how to get them from the "tech 2" to my computer. I can tell you that you will need to figure out how to tell your BCM & Roof Modules two things:
1) Engine Running
2) Trans in Park
I'll do a bit more research on these, and try again on getting...
I just thought I'd my pictures and experience. This is my third time to wet sand, polish, and wrap headlights. My first time was easy, the headlights were fairly flat. The high curvature of the XLR lights makes wrapping them with UV protection film very difficult!
Sanding and polishing went...
Yes, I cut the radio bezel to taper down below the radio to the climate controls. I was able to round the metal like it is around the radio. It isn't perfect, so I'm thinking about how to make it better.
Yes! Putting the navigation screen at the top is like most cars... at least, most cars that I like anyway. I'm curious how you would re-route the vents below the radio?
For the trunk open switch, I needed something super low-profile to fit between the gap in the license plate panel and the...
