Anyone ever try replacing the trunk antenna wires on a 2004 XLR with shielded coax cable for better radio reception? I've heard it may work if you leave about 6" of the core wire exposed.
Thanks for the input RubyRod, that is exactly what my car is doing. I will have to check it again with the A/C running to verify that the fan is running. Thanks again for all the input guys.
It's not overheating. I will try turning on the A/C to see if that triggers the fan. The fan does work, I did unplug it and apply 12 volts directly and it did run. Thanks for the reply.
I have a radio/head unit from a 2004 XLR in working condition that I will sell for $400. The amp unit is still in my car though. Let me know if you are interested.
Looking for a 2004 ECBM (ABS) module for my XLR. The part number is 18048955. I believe only a module from a 2004 will work as GM changed it in 2005 and later models.
Well, we performed the top relearn procedure on my XLR today and everything works well once again. We had a couple of hiccups at first but we took care of them and then everything went well with the procedure. Thanks again for everyone's input.
Thanks for the advice. A guy here in Michigan has volunteered his Tech II and help. He is about 40 miles away from me. This forum and the people are of great help for us newbies. Thanks again.
My top works fine up and down but the trunk lid will not open or close using the key fob, dash button or trunk button. Also when I put the top up or down it hesitates when the trunk is sequenced to close, I have to release the top button and then push it again and the trunk will then close...
Can I swap out the front tonneau cover position switch without doing a relearn on the top sequence? I'm having problems with my trunk lid not opening and closing using the key fob or the dash button.
