Thanks for the replies, guys. mickeytee, I'll be very interested to see what you get from the dealer.
As regards shades of white--I've never been taken with the pearl whites. To me, it almost looks a bit beige. If I were switching, I'd want a straight-up real white.
Folks, here's something that puzzles me. I wanted to look up this white XLR in the registry, and found that the VIN shows as Black Raven.
Could a previous owner have had it painted? Or is someting else at work here? The car has pretty much a blank registry record, so that's no help.

Rather a pretty example, but with some surprising equipment.
Wonder if they used an agency for that suspension, or if it was a private placement?

It would surely be fun! Although I doubt I could afford one.
But realistically, it's somewhat amazing that Cadillac still has a couple of sedans, after Ford, Buick, & Lincoln abandoned them. A swoopy two-seater would be asking too much, alas.
(I really like your car's name, BTW.)
This is an uncommonly fine-looking example. Look at the steering wheel & driver's seat--I can't detect any sign of wear. Very unusual for >100,000 mi.
And from a dealer and not overpriced--also unusual!
Very fine 2006

2006 Responsible for a lot of forest clearance!
Sorry you are having problems, XLR-SAM. I expect all of us here have fooled with old cars enough to feel your pain!
mickeytee's advice is always good, so I expect he's on the beam here.
Let us know what you decide to do.
Thanks for the info, mickeytee. You always have the low-down on these cars. Cut-and-paste undoubtedly accounts for a lot of the Alpine White ads out there and also quite a few Star Black ones.
What is up with this center stack? It's the only one I've run across that's not wood and/or aluminum. It looks blacked out, and I don't think it's just the lighting. Special edition, maybe? (I hope it's not just that somebody went nuts with a rattlecan.)
Black center stack?
Also, this car...
