someone with a VIN should be able to submit it to the NHTSA as documentation this PROVES it happens while the car is in motion ... that is what the NHTSA needs to issue a recall... is some proof
the best is to replace ALL other wise you screw your self since you replace burned out one only then you still have the old ones..
I bet he buys sylvania LED bulbs(the ones you buy at auto part store) and the strips the parts from the off the shelf LEDS (better then the cheap junk on ebay)...
that would not work since they saw it the shop
He is on a grandfathered legacy insurance policy.. which does cover it. he has been with them quite a while. since the 80s I think
correction it's only 2500 minus the 500 deductible..
"they claimed to have never seen anything like it before." so they have nothing "about it" in the policy.
of not being covered..
You clearly know nothing about cars anyways..
It's expected it to be done right the first time that is why my grandpa did not put the burden on a local mom and pop shop for this repair...
it's just a crappy part. poorly made garbage. shotty workmanship
I mean there is 100 year old cars that still have the original gear shifter
3 uses and 2 hours is pretty bogus if you ask me..
The transmission works perfectly I tested it and PERFECT shifts into all 5 forward Gears and perfect Reverse gear as well no kicking , no hard slamming into gear or no slipping etc....
so it's not a transmission issue it's a "cable issue " since it did work fine a few times. then broke...
Looks like we are on Round# 2 :(
Failed after 3 uses only less then 30 miles.. (drove home)
then went to the body shop and it failed there and towed away to the dealer..
Recall seems due for this issue..
Only Reverse and Neutral this time around..
none if the drive gears did anything...
Sorry it's really easy to build your own car.
some people start with a on the market car and "work it" from there. to "how they want it"
with off the shelf parts and and recycled chassis you can.
