    "Service Ride Control" ??

The tech2 clone I used https://www.vxdiagshop.com/wholesale/vxdiag-vcx-nano-for-gm-opel.html Easiest is to use an old laptop you have laying around. It doesn't like newer windows software and security

    "Service Ride Control" ??

If you look at my tech 2 picture. The top 4 readings are 2.22, those are the ride height readings. They never move. But when I drive with the tech 2 computer rig I have, the bottom 4 percent readouts do modulate. Corresponding to a wheel that's getting loaded. Even as the 2.22 is steady. I think...

    New Bilstein shocks

Also which m&p kit did you get? Was it the one with 8 resistors? Or only 4...I just installed it on my 07 and it fixed my warning messages finally, after 3 months of fighting with the same problem. On several occasions I found that the shop has not installed the plugs correctly. I had to redo...

    New Bilstein shocks

I would just make sure the headlight is aimed correctly and leave it alone. Mine both died and I don't miss them. I find them kinda annoying. They move too robitically. Better just straight.

    "Service Ride Control" ??

I never had any suspension codes or warning messages until the shop took my mag ride struts off and installed Bilsteins and only half the Casper's kit. So I don't think the module is bad, unless it got messed up when the first set of Casper's resistors got fried. Since then I have been trying...

    "Service Ride Control" ??

I made my own resistors they were 1.5ohm 100 watt, but never installed. I'll keep them as backup. The resistors were from Amazon and were like 13 dollars for 5!!. Problem was the plug ends. Luckily i had 6 plugs from the burned up Casper's!! I liked the kit ones from m&p as they looked as big as...

    "Service Ride Control" ??

Latest update. Casper's strut resistors kept failing. I assume they can't take the load being sent by the still active suspension module. Looking around and asking around, came to the conclusion I need 50 to 100watt resistors, ideally 1 to 3 ohms but ohms not that important, only that lower ohms...

    "Service Ride Control" ??

Update, after getting a Chinese tech 2 to scan codes and check the suspension system, found that 3 of the 4 Casper resistors for the struts were fried. That happened when they only installed those 4, and not the ride height sensor resistors. (Original shop did that) We saw with the tech2 while...

    Help! Trunk bumpers

one thing to be aware of, thats kinda related to trunk bumper height. if your top down doesnt latch into the trunk correctly, it will bounce a bit, tapping against the inside of the trunk lid. this makes little paint chips on the top of the roof. so check when you stow your top that it latches...

    Help! Trunk bumpers

ive done this twice. first time with oem parts. i got a set of calipers and measured the length of exposed thread below the set nut, between the nut and the remainder of the rubber cone , mine werent too badly deteriorated. also noted where the trunk lid lined up, aka level, with the tail...

    2009 headlight

note this was all done at the kitchen table , not on the vehicle obviously. also note, some people just snap the lens into little pieces and remove it completely from both headlights. older xlr's had a problem with the lens melting/burning and turning an ugly baked yellow color. there are...

    2009 headlight

this happened to me. i was able to reposition the lens when it happened to me, getting hold of it was fairly easy, then placing it in the correct position also doable, i did use some clear epoxy or gel superglue, i cant recall which, to glue it in place. it took about an hour to accomplish, i...

    "Service Ride Control" ??

mickeytee, you are always saying the rear sims need to be ziptied. do you mean two white and two black, rear drivers and rear passenger sims, or one in each wheel well? each wheel has a shock sim (white) and a ride height sim (black) casper instructions talk about the gray(white) shock sims...

    "Service Ride Control" ??

B8 does seem quite a bit more jarring than the mag ride. I preferred it more the caddy refined ride. Just got new tires. Continental dws06 plus. Non run flat. You think I need to get it lowered an inch all the way around to get the shocks to a more optimal absorbing position? It does feel a...

    "Service Ride Control" ??

First two pics show the white simulators that go to the wire from the top of the shock. Rear wheel location is kinda hanging, front is tucked in above the new strut. Next two pics are of the ride height sensors "without" the black simulators. Pics are from last week. Black sims installed...

    "Service Ride Control" ??

07 xlr platinum, basically a base, not the V. never had any service ride control messages, but shop said mag shocks were pretty bad so i opted to let them replace, while redoing brakes. just had the b8 bilsteins installed and casper simulators. still have the service ride control message and...

    Installed new Bilsteins

Yes gonna drive it a month and recheck. Was done at a Corvette custom restoration, specialist shop. County Corvette , in West Chester PA . They don't mind working on the XLR. They are more picky than I am. Lol. I didn't measure this before. Just checking it now. I gotta detail the wheels after I...

    Installed new Bilsteins

Oh and do you think an alignment shop would adjust the ride height as part of an alignment? Should I get an alignment after doing the shocks? Especially if I get the height adjusted? Or do adjustments to the ride height bolts really not effect the alignment...

    Installed new Bilsteins

Hi all, I just got the Bilstein shocks done on my 07 xlr. Along with new brakes , rotors, and tires. Stock 18 inch wheels with CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 PLUS, 235 50 18. I know this isn't going to be an exact measurement, but I feel like my ride height is off. Can anyone check their rim...
