If you have an actual TECH II, the option for a relearn is there. If you don't have instructions I have a pdf for it

Read some of my posts about Cadillac dealers and their shops. Be sure to ask them about their mechanic's knowledge about the XLR. There's not many CERTIFIED XLR techs around

The video is gone, I guess. But I used some neodymium magnets glued to the bottom of the rim of the console and then magnets glued to the lid in corresponding spots. BUT. if the hinge is broken, which is another common problem with the console, can't be fixed. You might find one on eBay.

My local Chevy dealer did that for me several years ago.

I programmed 2 of the 08/09 XLR fobs to our 2006 XLR. Then got the key cut to the big flat trunk key.

I got one for my 06 that was rebuilt from Rockauto. Might give them a try
