THANK GOD FOR LITTLE OLD LADIES!

I guess 1957 was the Chinese "Year of the Rabbit", eh?:laugh::laugh: Tim

Corvettes owners who cant handle their cars!!!

Rod, methinks that some of the folks from "back east" might have a little difficulty dealing with the fact (!) that we have empty highways to drive out here in the west, where we can do speeds that they can only imagine being reached on a race track, in fact, we can usually go faster (due to...

    Montana Rocket Run 2014

Rod, I tried to reply to your PM this morning, but got an evil system message (I informed Rob). My answer to your question is, "Sure! OK w/ me." Tim

Well, what went through my mind at the time was: cops? antelope? bird? tires? chain? etc. The bike itself is designed, engineered (!), and manufactured to go that fast. In fact, the faster you go on a 'Busa, the more stable it seems to become. It seems to ride lower and become rock solid, no...

Grasshoppers are worse! Like getting shot. At meaningful triple digit speeds, I'm all tucked down in the "bubble", anyway. Supposedly, at 200 mph, just moving your elbows out into the slipstream will cost ya 7 mph; dunno, 'cuz the most I've done is 175 mph. (My son has done 200 on my bike.)...

Kinda makes one wonder, WHY the 'Vette was slower, Cubby. Heck, it even had a 100 HP nitrous add-on. It should have significantly better aerodynamics (reduced frontal area, better form factor, etc.) than the CTS-V. I did notice that the acceleration really seemed to fall off on the C7 at...

    Aftermarket warranty

Can't speak to the "any shops" question, Al, but it works super with our Cadillac dealers. I've had work done (and redone) both in Colorado Springs and in La Quinta, CA. No questions. The Costco warranty outfit is contacted by the repair facility, and it's paid directly. All I have had to...

    Aftermarket warranty

Costco 4 Me 2 I also have the Costco warranty, and am very (!) happy with it. They have fixed a couple of issues for me, without a hint of an argument. They DO pay for diagnostic time, fluids, etc. All I've ever had to pay was the deductible. FWIW Tim

    door & window gone wild

connector??? Well, I'd check the wiring connector to the door. It's acting as if it didn't have connectivity to the door switches, and the connector is a logical place to start. :dunno: Tim

mat and trunk divider grommet fix?

Al, I'm currently in a different state than my XLR (bummer), but I'll look it up when I get back in a week and a half. Instead of being snowed on in CO, I'm being rained on in the desert. Go figure. Tim

mat and trunk divider grommet fix?

FWIW, I replaced the grommets in a set of floor mats for the XLR (they came w/ the wrong size grommets). It was a breeze. The grommets themselves come apart using a putty knife (just about any knife would work, too). They just snap together. I unsnapped the wrong size ones, and snapped in...

    XLR Service Bulletin Details

Just an obtuse thought: give it a once over for vacuum leak(s). Strange things can happen w/ those, including sensors generating unexpected states. I'd also look hard at the intake plumbing for leaks. FWIW - can't hurt. :dunno: Tim (I have a tendency to look for cheap stuff first. :chuckle )

    End of an Era

OMG; What a POS When I saw THIS POS, I couldn't help but think of your situation. Your car was gorgeous, and clearly loved, until totalled; the one I just saw parked outside the Palm Desert Lowes is evidently not receiving any love at all, but it's still being driven. The irony is palpable...

    End of an Era

Ah, Floyd, that's a sad sight. Are you going to buy the salvage? You oughta, yano. Heck, I'm a candidate to take those rims/tires off your hands. Think about all the stuff that's NOT destroyed. Electronics, engine, seats, parts of the body, hydraulics, etc. Food for thought, eh? Buying...
