    2007 XLR V on ebay

Dealer Board? I don't know how Florida deals with their motor vehicle dealers, but I have direct experience by virtue of having been a dealer in Colorado. CO has a State Motor Vehicle Dealer Board that meets monthly to deal with customer complaints against flaky/incompetent dealers. They...

Finally starting to thaw out up there, Skip? :chuckle Tim

Need help opening driver door manually.

Vin, Phrede has it right. I have the same car as you, and had to do the same thing to get into the car to open the hood and try to charge the battery. On the '06 base model, there's a small plastic cover with a turnable latch on the left side of the trunk, right above the floor compartment...

How many of you shift gears yourself on a regular basis? Any issues?

Hmmm... Ever notice that polarized sunglasses do NOT block out the cruise control icon? Makes one wonder why the icon (which is also reflected, BTW) isn't blocked, but the numbers are. :dunno: Maybe it's not the reflection that polarizes it; maybe it's the way the characters are generated...

OK; I'll bite. How can you NOT see the HUD??? :dunno: Tim

    Help! 2005 XLR Radio

FWIW, I'd look at the steering wheel wiring. It sounds like it might be shorting out in the wiring or the connector. I like to start out looking at the easiest and the cheapest. ;) If this doesn't work, I'd get a second opinion from a certified XLR (!) tech at a different dealer. Tim

    remove battery for winter ?

Memory Saver Before they replaced my ailing battery (from sitting over 7 weeks without a battery tender), the shop hooked up a widget called a "Memory Saver" to the OBD port. It provided enough power to maintain the settings while the battery was being swapped out. After "Ol' Yella Top" was...

    Batteries

Thanks for the update Fred I'm going to jump onto that yellow top and get that good deal from my local auto parts store and I sure do appreciate your input. UPDATE: Installed the D35 Yellow Top. Perfect fit, and the posts are on the correct side for my model; i.e., positive on the driver's...

    Batteries

Yellow-Top Experience Phrede, just checking in to see how the Yellow Top Optima D35 is working out for ya. I'm thinking of taking the leap to one, but wanted to learn first-hand how it's going for you. Was it a good choice over the Red-Top? :dunno: Tim BTW, your PM basket is full. :chuckle

    Hood Struts, 2005

Struts Failed Well, my 8-year old struts bit the dust. Thanks to you all for doing the hard work, and identifying the part number, and the sources to get a replacement set. Rock Auto is shipping them to me for $54.45, and now I even know how a "trick" to installing them easier. Thanks...

    05 Crimson Pearl/Shale XLR for sale-Phila suburbs

In the motorcycle biz', we used to refer to those "flogging" rides as "Italian Tune-ups", AKA "de-carbonizing". :chuckle Really worked wonders on those bikes that had been ridden like Yugos. DOHC engines seem to thrive on them. Tim

    Help! Breather air cleaner box

OK, Phil, here's where we are. We can all get together and discuss the brain-damaged design of those air boxes. Why they didn't make the weakest part of that clamping arrangement on the top portion, I'll never know. My XLR tech, at Red Nowland, broke the tab off of mine, so don't be too hard...

    Help! Breather air cleaner box

Va. Beach/Outer Banks XLR Trip May 3-9, 2015

You can wave at Waynesboro, as you go past where the two roads meet. We lived there, about a hundred years ago, and it was my family's first experience with segregation and discrimination. A lot's changed since then, generally for the better IMO. The Blue Ridge "Foothills" are quite pretty...

    Head light replacement

I suggest you PM MTRocket. He has/had exactly what you need, brand new, sitting in his garage. It was originally purchased for Canadian Viking, who (tragically) lost his XLR in a domestic legal arrangement. Tim

    Cabin filter check

OK, this raises a couple of questions... How did they get in there? How did they get OUT??? Heck, they might be living in there!!! Might be a good idea to start looking into a trap that could work there, just to be sure. :dunno: Tim

    Cabin filter check

FYI, my '06 Base has 3 spring clips. Guess I must have the "Heavy Duty" model. Tim

    Do you see XLRs??

If that guy isn't sitting on the console, he's one big guy!!! Best not to get on the wrong side of anyone that size. :chuckle Wonder if the St. Louis Rams know he's around... Tim
