Someone sent this to me. I used it and these instructions work. This procedure is from page 8-897 of the shop manual, which shows how to do just what you ask:
1) Raise the decklid. 2) Open the hydraulic bypass valve (CCW). 3) Remove the four T-15 Torx screws securing the center console in car...
The hydrolic bypass was not the issue, it was the ceiling latch not fully open so the roof would not go all the way down. I used a 8mm ratchet wrench inside the car where I had removed the cd holder. The ratchet gave me enough torque to open the roof latch fully and I felt the roof drop the...
I did turn the pump for the trunk to unfold. Perhaps I turned it back too soon. Thanks for the idea. I will give it a try tomorrow. I am dying to get this top down so I can have some fun until I get the top fixed. I am going to give it a full overhaul so it will be expensive even using Top...
I need to chat with someone who has actually manually opened their xlr top. I have watched all of klaus videos, which are awesome, but run into an issue of the top not going deep enough into the trunk by about a half inch, and the top tonneau can not close. Trying to find someone who has done...
I have a hydraulic fluid leak. I can see drip marks near the passenger side small angular window.. there is an interior vinyl cover that I unsnapped and could see the leak. Do not know if it is a line or a hydraulic cylinder leaking. I tried to manually take the top down. Got through whole...
I am having the same issue you described about a hydraulic line leaking on the passenger side but the pictures showing the line on the drivers side. Is there a line that runs on the passenger side above the small rectangular window? I did not see a clear answer. Maybe I missed it?
Thanks....baster would have been better. After I over filled and had to remove a little I noticed it was dirty and replaced. I siphoned with a 5ft piece of drip hose I had in the garage. Ended up with a mouth full of oil! Note to self...USE BASTER! Thanks. Will replace again as you...
I had the same problem of top motor sounding a little strained. Checked the fluid and it was below minimum level. Put in adelco fluid suggested on this site and the top is working perfectly. Thanks for all the pics and information! You are a great group.
Go to superbrightleds.com. here is what I ordered. Zip ties and bulbs. Buy the zip ties or you will be sorry! Those buggers don't come out.
1 CT-B04-10: 4 Inch Long $0.09
4 194-CW3HP: Cool White $2.95
I just changed my lights out to LED lights and it solved my map lights on the mirror not turning off. The lens cover pops off. To get the the bulbs out use a 4 inch zip tie. Place around the base of the bulb and pull. It pops right out. Put in new bulbs and replace lens cover. (Use a flat...
I saw one in 2012 driving to Newport Beach. I don't notice cars but this one stood out. I caught up to it so I could see what it was. Did not know Cadillac made this car. I have not seen once since, except the one I just purchased. It is exactly like the one I saw 7 years ago and so worth...
Switched map bulbs out to led. Problem solved. Light on/off button on dash now works and buttons on rearview mirror as well. Thank you all for your help.
In reading about lights not turning off I read about turning map bulbs around. I turned the left map bulb around and it began to work with the dash dimmer switch. Just the left side worked. I then turned the right bulb around and reconnected and both are back on again and the dash dimmer...
I just bought my 2006 xlr and the map lights would not turn on or the garage door opener lights. Found a blown fuse. Replaced the fuse and now the map lights will not turn off. I have pushed the on off buttons on the mirror itself and the gauge button with the dome light on it on the dash...
