Headlights Not doing high from low beam.

There are no high or low beams in the traditional sense. The headlight is always on high. This little servo-ish something moves a crappy piece of metal up or down in front of the bulb. Likes to freeze up or rust in place. A classic GM flawed design. And deep in the headlight (not designed to be...

Help! Need Variable Valve Timing Oil Control Valve

That's just plain sorry-ass. Avoid the dealerships, they don't care about your XLR. "Want to buy a new Cadillac buddy?"

    New Headlight 3D Printing Material

The first pic is of the outer lens gasket. It's very f*cking real and made out of a different plastic then the outer lens so it must be made in a second print which is costly. Then you have to use a special plastic glue and combine the two pieces. Very hard to get to look right and very f*cking...

    New Headlight 3D Printing Material

Do you have the gasket under the lens that holds it in position? If not, add $400. Do you have the rubber strip that goes around the lens? If not, add $300. $1200 to $1900 to do the work. I've not worked with the new lens material before and it's the holiday season; three to five weeks.

    New Headlight 3D Printing Material

Yes, We are talking about the outer lens which is where you scratch is. I personally would sand and polish it, if it's not cracked through. That's a nice headlight. I can't give you quote if you did want the lens replaced, because the printing costs are always changing and I don't know if...

Lowest priced V in the country still available in CA

Amen.....if there was some other choice, id take all my toys and go. And if eBay isn't enough of a pain, there's PayPal, who freezes your money when a buyer files a claim and you got to dip in to your bank account to pay to ship the item back. Where's that shoot me emoji?

Lowest priced V in the country still available in CA

Wow, thanks for that info. I have NOT done my homework lately. Things change quickly. I guess it's time to go shopping for parts. I still watch the headlights and taillights listings and they are wicked expensive. As an eBay seller, I have long abandoned eBay's stupid and fraud encouraging...

Lowest priced V in the country still available in CA

You are right. I usually do "Local Pickup Only" on eBay with big heavy items like the hood and doors or the roof. But the lighter, smaller stuff, like trim pieces, air bags, carpeting, HUD, computer modules, etc... that brings in money. Some XLR's are more valuable dead than alive.

    New Headlight 3D Printing Material

I do not have any photos because I am not currently making any. I would need a customer with a damaged headlight first. The diffuser is part of the lens itself just like in the original lens.

    New Headlight 3D Printing Material

I am now able to 3D print headlight lenses with Somos Waterclear Ultra. The heat and UV issues of previous materials are gone. Printed lenses now has the same properties as OEM.

Lowest priced V in the country still available in CA

This looks like a good parts car. The headlights and tail lights alone are worth 5 to 6 grand. The body panels, doors, bumper, trunck assembly are worth around 5 grand parted on Ebay. Take that hand built engine out, rebuild it with 2 grand of parts and labor, then worth 6 grand or more. Rebuild...

Help! Need Variable Valve Timing Oil Control Valve

I have had bad luck with Dorman, especially thier rebuilt throttle body's.

Help! Need Variable Valve Timing Oil Control Valve

I have, a few times. You need to destroy them to get them off because GM stole the design from BMW (hence the "Made In Germany," labels on them) which wisely uses disposable gaskets. GM hard siliconizes them on. Profanity and a Dremel ensue because you do not want to nick the engine cover metal...

Help! Need Variable Valve Timing Oil Control Valve

Was thinking, the upper driver side valve can be removed without removing the radiator. My bad (sorry long Tall Sally). The upper passenger side valve can be too but you have to disconnect the power steering reservoir. The bottom two...maybe a midget with four hands. The problem is if one valve...

Help! Need Variable Valve Timing Oil Control Valve

I would like to have seen your tech get those out without removing the radiator. There is barely enough room to remove the actuators. Lets see if he's the real deal: Ask him what the 24 hour requirement is for in this service procedure. Even better what is his favorite actuator alignment tool -...

Help! Need Variable Valve Timing Oil Control Valve

Those valves are just long enough to hit the radiator when being pulled out. Techs who actually has done this job, will know this. Also few techs will do this because of the actuator gasket issue GM caused.

Help! Need Variable Valve Timing Oil Control Valve

Oh, this is a ****-load of trouble, even for a master tech. I have dealt with just the 4 actuators covering the 4 valves, and that's a real pain with rembuilding the gaskets and the alignment. Your are going to have to take out the radiator.....oh f that.

    Headlight repair service?

I have the STLs of the outer lenses and the DRL lenses. I would be willing to swap my STLs for the STL of the reflector. I want to change some of shapes on the reflector for LEDs. Halos would look great in this headlight.

    Coolant Flush and Refill XLR

Should do it every five years. After flush, you will notice around half the capacity is fillable. Let car idle for a few minutes with the heater on. It will then take the other half.

    Headlight repair service?

It's very expensive (20k+) in manufacturing startup costs to build the whole headlight. I would say 90% of the repair issues are with the lens and/or the outer Lens. They can be 3D printed somewhat economically, BUT there are heat sensitivity and installation issues. Right now it's down to how...
