May Indeed be The Power Mirrors ? Hawkeye makes a potentially valid point. "IF" the mirrors are not 'programmed' to where you want them, and are in their 'default' setting, they then tilt all the way down the moment you start the car. Sometimes will make a 'clicking noise'. Result of default...

    Low coolant warning

Check the wiring under The Front Air Dam FYI, belated response to this post. Oops. But a friend who has one had it parked outside and a rabbit chewed on the coolant level wires that are exposed under the front end. When it would occassionally go on it was temporarily 'grounding out' and turning...

Welcome to The XLR Site Welcome aboard. Yes these are very cool cars! And like 'all', things, including 'you and me', something will eventually wear out and break. Yet, I have found my XLR to be pretty 'reliable'. Not any more 'problematic' than any other vehicle. Hawkeye described the "Low...

Introduction/help if you live in Houston, Tx

Welcome to The XLR Site Welcome aboard. Don't know what kind of issues you are having (?), but I will do more reading under The Tec Posts here on the site. The one thing I have learned since I got mine is that these vehicles have more 'parasitic battery drain' than any I have ever owned...

    New Owner 06 XLR-V

Welcome Aboard Welcome to The Site. Nice! A "V". Wanted a V in Gold Mist when I bought mine. Hmmm? Never made a V in Gold Mist I found out. Don't know why? Anyone have the answer to this question (?) please weigh in. Like you, we are also in "Winter". Have had lots and lots of snow here...

Hi Sandy! : ) Bet It's 'Warm There', Huh? Not Here. : ( You are a genius. About a week or two after we returned home from BG (FYI) I was reading an article on Hagerty's News Letter email. Guess what they listed as one of the presently fastest appreciating vehicles in the collector...

    Hello from the D

Yup. Sure did. : ) Totally correct. In fact I actually read the manual thoroughly before I did this job. Did indeed use two crankshaft bolts. Also a skim coat of RTV Sealer. ;) Better yet? No leaks.

Great to Have you! Nice cars and better people here. Welcome to The Forum. Interesting stuff. When we first decided we were going to buy a sports car, we were looking at Mercedes 500Sl or 550, or even 600. Also Corvette? Hmmm? Then my wife says, how about an XLR? "I think they are more...

    Hello from the D

Really Good Advice on some common XLR issues. Yup. Good advice! Mine dripped oil from the front bottom of the timing chain cover when I first got it. Not much. Just a drop or two occasionally, yet annoying. :( So I decided to fix it myself. A real PITA Job. Pull the radiator, drain the cooling...

Hey Chad, been meaning to ask you 'if' you came out all right money cost wise on The Corvette Museum Tour? I, as one of your Riff Raff Members am willing to chip in to make you whole if you came up short? Only you know the answer to this? Please let us all know. Again thank you and Rogene so...

I think maybe it's 'just me'? Hi Amy, ;) As again, Oops. Need to use my spell check I guess? But it's OK! Shirley says I resemble this as a 'self description' (Goof). Now 'corrected'. Maybe I can get a Websters as a gift sometime? :( LOL, Charles

    Hello from the D

Welcome to The XLR Forum Welcome to The Site. FYI, it is my understanding that the headlights in 2004' and a maybe a few 2005's (?) have problems. Apparently they get too hot and melt or something? I understand they are often replaced with those out of a 2006 or newer. Also, they aren't cheap...

New member in need of favor (rear bumper key cover)

Try Salvage Yard Locator On Line I obtained my replacement High Mount Brake Light when needed from a salvage yard in Wisconsin a few years back. Yup, afterwards then started being offered 'new', re manufactured, and at less than 1/2 of what I paid. Ugh. :(
