So cool that you got your dad’s XLR, low miles & you know how it was cared for. Plus you have my twin and the fastest color! Welcome!

    Engine Quits Intermittently

Thanks for the write up, Dan! I need to make a note to myself to check battery & grounds first for any “weird” problem before visiting the dealer!

    After market stereo

Same experience here, all the way down to ordering from Crutchfield. Those installers need to re-think their approach on a car like this.

    06 XLR - Did I make a mistake???

Hello Charles! Are you guys finally out of snow season? We’re doing well & enjoying summer! And I’m looking forward to you getting that Eldo all fixed up. Thanks for the compliments! Actually the weather finally cooperated so that I could have Beauty out all weekend, and I got the usual...

Summer 2019: GM parts backorder issue

I cited your situation to them as an example. Sounds like the dealers are just as frustrated as everyone else.

Summer 2019: GM parts backorder issue

As consolation for those needing parts that ARE still available, found out that it seems almost everything is on back order, even for newer vehicles, even for dealers. Thought I’d pass this along - it’s not just our XLR’s. Misery loves company!

    Do you see XLR's

Just saw one on a 2018 Hallmark movie ... passes for a 2018 model car! And looks better to me than the C[amaro rear]8 Corvette revealed today ...

    Bubble Gum Problem

Rexster, how has this stuff held up over the last couple of years? Got a well worn SUV seat we’re thinking about fixing.

    06 XLR - Did I make a mistake???

Your car (& mine) has 13 year old rubber seals & gaskets, & those don improve with age. Typically the damage happens when they are just sitting in a soaking rain for a while, like while they’re waiting at a dealership for a new owner. If you’re driving, the water is going to roll off & away...

    Power steering pump pulley collar

‘04 -10 STS’s also have a Northstar engine that’s not longitudinally mounted (because rear wheel drive; DTS’s with Northstar are FWD with the engine longitudinally mounted) - to the extent the part might be hard to find because of the engine layout, would looking for a STS part help? I have no...

    folding top problem 06 V.

Thanks for that info - although I couldn’t find the video on inspecting lines & cylinders on YouTube, I did find Top Hydraulics has a dozen other videos on there that are super informative. For example, for folks on here who keep asking where the different sensors are, they have a video on...

    Help! flet in interior

If you’re talking about something that looks like black foam rubber, it’s some sort of insulation around the air vents that deteriorates over the years & then blows out when the HVAC is on. Don’t smear it, & be careful if it gets on your clothes, it’s a tar-like mess. Nasty, right?! You can...

    folding top counts

We took pictures after we got things fixed so we’d have a record of the correct counts. Hopefully they’ll load in order and you can see by the screen where we were in the program (as official photographer I wasn’t part of using the Tech 2 so I don’t personally know how we got there). Also...

Help! Scuff marks on seat housing?

I can vouch for that ... don’t ask how ... I can also vouch that it’s really, really hard to fix what you mess up when you do that. :(

I would bet Credit Karma doesn’t know jack about XLR’s. It’s whatever it’s worth to you & whatever someone else would pay.

    Top question

From a quick skim this thread looks like it will give you info on sensor locations: Trunk Inoperative Using Trunk Button It also goes through symptoms associated with different sensor failures, see the posts by ccclarke. As to whether they’re still available, I have no clue. Check...

    Top question

When that happened to us it was the tonneau sensor gone bad.

    Help! Folding top problem?

We just did the Tech II. Not touching manual adjustments unless all else fails, because as you said it’s messy and you can REALLY foul things up doing that. Even our XLR tech stays away from manual adjustments if at all possible.
