    Variable Effort Steering rack

That’s great to hear! I hope we can get totally free repairs if needed since we’re on our 10th Cadillac (4 are still with us).

    CT5

Here’s a reveal. Ummm ... doesn’t work for me, certainly not on the profile: 2020 Cadillac CT5 Revealed As Stylish CTS Replacement Some of that profile looks like they stole design cues from the Saturn Ion, just with an extra kink:

    Vanity Plates

I like ONEOF26. Think that’s cool. For me, mixing the XLR with a Vette is not something I’m a fan of. The trust fund ones are funny.

    Caddy,,, NOT going to share?

They included what I thought when I read your post - stay strong Cadillac! “There has been speculation the Blackwing could end up in a Corvette, but that seems to not be the case—at least for now.“ Kind of like “we are NOT making the CT6 any more,” to “oops, forgot to say we are still making...

    Lloyd's Floor Mats

I didn’t find any that looked like they would & went with a darker/brownish shade. You can see a picture of it in my garage. If you’re interested I can try to look up what color I got.

    Car Air Dryer

We have a full size Master Blaster. Not the greatest for the XLR, I find no matter what angle I try it blows water into the engine compartment, and gotta be careful not to hit the window seals the wrong way. Ours has two speeds so IF I use it on the body I use it at half speed, and with care...

    Lloyd's Floor Mats

You made out better than me on the Biarritz, mine had 65k when I got it (later found out that’s the average lifespan of that engine), I put on another 20k before it got to the point I had to add a quart of oil every 200 miles. Then I said goodbye. HT4100 wasn’t any Northstar!

    Lloyd's Floor Mats

I had an ‘84 Eldorado Biarritz years ago, yellow with a stainless steel top, absolutely beautiful car but the HT4100 engine, not so much... The V is actually more my husband’s ride - told him to get his own XLR when he kept texting me at work that he was joy riding in mine during lunch...

    Lloyd's Floor Mats

Bikemanbrad - Couldn’t find the invoice but did find the “inspection card” which lists the color as 118. As I said, that’s a shade darker than the OEM carpet in the car. You may want to contact Lloyd’s and ask what is a slightly lighter shade of black than that. We bought our mats about 6...

    Lloyd's Floor Mats

He Our V has the ebony interior, the Lloyd mats we got trying to match it ended up a shade darker. Unfortunately kind of makes the other carpet look faded. If you can wait until the weekend I can look for the invoice & see if it gives color specifics. I’m so slammed with work I don’t have...

    3M headlight plastic protectant

I’m not 100% sure what you’re asking, so I’ll give several answers that might cover everything. If your headlights are just dirty, yes, you need to clean them first. If they’re “scuffed” up/damaged (which is what I’m guessing you mean), it would be better to repair that as best you can before...

    Yes to both.

Spare Tire ? On E-Bay NEW

Michelin Pilot Super Sports are on the V. If I remember we couldn’t find any runflats that fit and were made by anybody worthwhile, so just went with Michelin.

Spare Tire ? On E-Bay NEW

+1 for Bridgestone RFs on XLR’s. I put them on my base & didn’t notice any ride difference. At the same time I had the same Continentals Harley is considering on my ATS coupe. Granted that car doesn’t have MRC & the tires are low profile, but the ride & handling were absolutely horrible with...

Removing trunk area interior trim driver's side

Bill - Mike (hubby, fixed mine) said he folded the carpet back on the drivers side, took off the removable cover under that that is over the hydraulics, exposing the top of the hydraulic pump. Then he just angled himself so he could see the bottom of the lift & used a long flat head screw...

    Help! XLR trunk lid

I should have included part info in my post - we used Stabilus SG330112 Fits Cadillac XLR 2004 To 2009 Rear Trunk Lift Supports, found a set on Amazon.

    Help! Trunk lid not closing

Dan, if it’s keeps going back to getting wonky you probably have a bad sensor/potentiometer. That’s what happened with our V — the trunk kept not closing at the end of the open cycle, we’d do a relearn with our Tech II, & all would be fine for a while. Then the “fix” lasted for shorter &...

Original Parts Group & XLR parts

For what it’s worth, recently ran across opgi.com now carries XLR parts. Skimmed through it & seemed to be a rather random collection of parts & not any bargains. But, it’s at least another source to try.

    Help! XLR trunk lid

Can’t say enough of the benefits of replacing the trunk struts. Mine gave no signs of failure but we decided to replace them since they’re a dozen years old. I got the car when it was 4 years old and the trunk has always slammed down whenever it closes, & left scrub marks on top of the bumper...

    Seat

Uggh, you’re right. I used that on the plastic around the seat position buttons to get off shoe scuffs on our base XLR with a cashmere interior. It worked great! So I gleefully used it on the same area in the V with a black interior. Made a mess that I then had to spend a bunch of time...
