Hope to drive the XLR tomorrow

Look at us people....LOL. We're like small children on Christmas eve eager to open presents the next morning...lol. Almost every post reads the same and each and every one of us are sitting on the edge of our proverbial seats like we're watching a movie thriller waiting for the climax...lol...

    Noisy rear view mirror

Well... Like most mirrors underneath all the plastic there should be a simple allen head screw holding your mirror to the windshield stud which is attached to the glass. It probably just needs a turn or 2 to tighten.

    Do you see XLRs??

Crimson Red Cadillac XLR Platinum seen... Hey buddy... Don't know how far you're willing to go to pick up that platinum edition but I just saw one here at Arnie Bauer in Matteson, Ill... The dealer told me they also have it listed on ebay and I just took a peak at it. I'll see if I can post a...

Hope to drive the XLR tomorrow

LOL... Stella you are definitely preaching to the choir. I feel like an addict....lol. But the truth of the matter is exactly as you wrote. It really isn't worth it. I'm just gonna cool my heels until the weather breaks for good. Because I don't want ANY salt on mine and to be honest I...

Hope to drive the XLR tomorrow

It comforts me to know I'm not alone... For a while I thought it was just me but after reading the many post here I know now I'm not alone. I'm not the only one going crazy because I want so so badly to pull "Sparkle" out and go for a nice long drive and it is killing me...lol. Right now she's...

If you've named your XLR, what & why?

In the shed.... Along side the XLR "Sparkle" we have Lincoln MKZ named "Champagne" and my hunter green Eddie bauer Expedition and quite naturally her name is "Envy"...lol.

If you've named your XLR, what & why?

Beauty and also.... I've had a few black beauties... But I think my favorite was a Cadillac Sedan Deville, her name was "Ebony" and I had a 74 Cutlass 442 named "Onyx".... I guess at times we have to be a little creative, huh?...lol.

    Rough ride

XLRating, you are the man.... THIS is the feedback I was looking for. Someone who can atest to the differences and that deals with it on a daily basis. It may be just me but even if I take someone elses for a spin it really doesn't help me compare because when you drive a strange vehicle they...

    Rough ride

Considering... Just to piggy-back on my previous post here. I really don't consider mine to ride rough but I've heard here and there that there's a big difference if you switch you regular tires. And grant it I don't have anything to measure this against so I guess I'll just keep what I have.

If you've named your XLR, what & why?

Ah yes... Thunder Gray... Mine too is "Thunder Gray" and she's named "SPARKLE" because THAT is what she does....lol. Eric.

    Rough ride

Reconsidering... Now I was considering keeping my run-flats so this topic interests me greatly. Is the difference in ride comfort THAT noticable or is the minimal? The lack of a spare or space for a spare kept me wanting to keep the run-flats.

    Mystery Wheels

Corvette wheels for sure... Those are the Corvette Z06 chrome "Spyder" wheels. I was torn on whether or not to buy those... Very nice wheels and they fit the XLR like a glove. If you're gonna stay with the 18" wheel size they have a +56 offset and quite naturally the fitment is 5X120.65 (5X4.75).

    Performance Chip

Gforce performance chips... This post just reminded me that I actually bought a G-force chip last summer and never installed it and I agree the 20-25 possible horepower increase probably won't be too noticable but my interest was more about the possible boost in gas mileage. I think I never...

    Daily Chat

Winter modifications... I think the worst part about owning an XLR is the WINTER months...lol. This is killing me not being about to drop that top and hit the road. But I've been through this with other cars I've owned as well so to occupy my time in the winter I search for all the things I...

    Daily Chat

I just saw a couple of new ones on EBAY for about $15.00... Heck, it doesn't get much more reasonable than that. And it looks an easy fix. 2 screws and a plug.

I sure will... I'm in the process of dressing her up a bit. I do that over the winter when parts and accessories are a bit cheaper to buy. I can't wait to get out to some of the events. Thank you so much and I'll keep my eye to the screen...lol.
