It was under construction when I first visited in 1966 and is still under construction now. At least you can make out what it is now. Save some extra time just to drive some of the great roads in the Black Hills area.
Welcome, Ray and Ruth Ann from San Diego will be in Laughlin the night of 5/21 on their way to Colorado. I am meeting up with them in Flagstaff on the 22nd. Maybe you can run with us for awhile if you can't make it to Colorado Springs.

You will fly all the way from Mesquite to Grand Junction. Nothing to slow you down the whole way. I think you will get there earlier and then about a 4 hour drive to colorado springs plus time for breaks and Denver traffic.
Boulder is a good distance from Colorado Springs but if we are taking a run up there then a side trip to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park would make a good day of it. A day during the week would be best.
