My budget manual has about 30 pages of wiring diagrams contained in a single PDF file for each of the model variations. It also has separate diagrams in the individual systems sections but the wiring diagram pdf is much easier to follow and is what I use.
I think I've discovered what the coating is on these engine bolts. It's a patented process called Dacromet. Unfortunately I haven't found a source for these bolts except the Auto Dealers. Apparently the patent costs are too excessive for these to be available through hardware stores or auto...
My $20 budget pdf manual from eBay does have the wiring diagrams. It includes all model years & the V-Spec cars. Might be worth the $20 just for the wiring diagrams.
'03 - '05 Fuel Level Sender (Sensor) For Sale. Driver's Side Sender (Electric Fuel Pump Side).
New In Box. Open Box - Part never installed. New/Old Stock. GM Part # 88967316. Gasket Included.
$150 plus shipping.
I finally got the car running reliably and had time to dig into this valve. There is a GM substitute part: 88894338. This is the Schrader Valve Core only (No cap). I picked one up at Autozone for under $10. It fits, it seals, its teflon, and it works with the Fuel Pressure Gauge (Tester).
I had...
One of the things to keep in mind is that while the car is "off" there are lots of electrical circuits that are powered. Things like the RF Remote receiver, the power seats, parts of the ECM & BCM are powered so that when you press the "Start" Button on the Dash the car will start, etc. So while...
Good to know. JustDennis lives nearby and has been generous with his time & his Tech2. He's stopped by several times and scanned the car for me. We've tried to do some more exotic things with the Tech2 but haven't figured out how to do them. In time we may figure out a little more.
I'm game to try it if you are. So far the C0450 DTC hasn't come back so I'm not sure how valuable testing things will be. But, ya never know.
My shop manual claims that testing the Steering Electric Motor requires measuring the current between the EBCM Module & the Steering Rack. Not an easy...
Mickey,
I've never seen Ball Joints tighten either. The guys at the shop that replaced the rack are VERY familiar with the 'vettes. They claim it's the same front suspension as the C6. They also claimed that it should move a lot easier than it did w/ the rack disconnected. They didn't have an...
The rebuilder was a major issue when shopping for a rebuilt unit. I'll see if I can find out who the rebuilder was. There weren't a lot of high quality options. I wasn't sure who to source a rebuilt unit from but I was sure I didn't want it sourced from Cardone.
In any event, the shop claimed...
I just had my Steering Rack & associated hoses replaced. The previous owner of the car had the Power Steering Pump replaced less than 1000 miles ago so the entire steering system is now all new (rebuilt Rack). During the Rack replacement process the mechanics/technicians that worked on the car...
Dennis,
Contact MickeyTee at XLR.Net regarding the Fuel Level Sender Readings you get on your car. He seems to know something about these being "reversed" on the 06-09 cars.

Dennis,
See the next to last post in this thread from ccclarke.

Just wanted to give forum member JustDennis a BIG THANK YOU for going out of his way to help me get my car running. He's stopped by my place several times to advise, tinker, WORK, & scan the various systems with his Tech2 device. He's been a BIG help. Can't thank him enough.
The 3rd Friday afternoon/evening of every month there is a "Cruise" night at the Court House Square in the center of town. Inverness is in North Central Florida ~20 miles west of I-75 at the northern end of the Florida Turnpike (Wildwood, FL).

I tried to remove mine but was unable. Once you remove the battery there's a square hole in the bottom of the battery tray. On the vertical sides of the square hole are 4 bolts. I removed the 4 bolts but the tray wouldn't lift off of the mounting base. I didn't see anything else holding the tray...
I measured the resistance on mine with my ohm meter (DMM) and it shows good but I couldn't flex the wiring harness to the ground point to determine if the wiring was OK or not when the car was in motion. I also took mine apart and found no issues or corrosion but I'm still wary of this ground...
Something you might want to check is the ground point at the rear of the car on the driver's side behind the rear wheel fender liner. This is the ground point for the Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM). I've found posts regarding problems with this ground point. Separate it and clean it, remove any...

I think this guy knows a little something. Doesn't answer my question about the "Off" state to the Fuel Pump but it's leading in the right direction.
