    Suspension lowering question.....

I have lowered both my C5 and my XLR by adjusting the lowering bolts. It will need to be aligned afterwards, but to me there was no appreciable difference in ride quality. It's when they go nuts and cut bushings that the terrible ride characteristics take place. Bruce

    Help! Diagnostic reader

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I agree, you'll probably need a Tech 2, but you can do some basics by yorself. Obviosluy check the fues, I beleve the top fuse is loacted under the passenger floor board. Does the trunk operate okay? Open the trunk and check the computers in the left rear...

Looking at an 04 XLR with these two problems....

Zeek, The headlights are expensive, and that's a pretty common problem. I believe teh problem was corrected in 2007. I replaced mine with upgraded units, and I turn off my DRL's. I think it looks better anyhow. The water intrusion can get very expensive if it floods th ecompartment under the...

    Need Rim Advice

If you go with the V wheels you need to buy new tires too. I have the same wheels as boilermaker, great looking wheel, exact stock size. LA Wheel may have both in stock, and is a great vendor. Bruce

    The Power of Clay

It's funny how many people think clay is a gimmick. I have them put their hand in a lightweight plastic bag and gently feel their their paint, then mine. Everyone is surprised how many contaminants they have been waxing over. Amazing results, and not that hard to do. Bruce

If you've named your XLR, what & why?

Seriously? Okay, we name all our cars. The XLR is Ondrya Wolfson, but we just call her Ondrya. She's the main girl in the song Valley Girl, written by Frank Zappa. Since we live in the Valley, and are huge Zappa fans, and the car is clearly a girl, it just fit. Bruce fer sure...

Help! Dealer Service suggestions..... no trust

I have an '05 also, and last year flushed all the fluids. I don't know if it was absolutely necessary, but I think it was worthwhile, the fluids were pretty dirty. I actually told my mecahnic I wanted those things done, along with the trans flush. Sad you have dealer trust issues though. If you...

    Help! Leather Cleaner

I lifted this from the Adam's forum for cleaning Alcantara, etc. Dylan is really phenomonal about detailing. This should answer your questions: HOW DO I CLEAN IT? Its important to understand Alcantara does not respond well to most chemical cleaners, as a matter of fact, many chemical cleaners...
