Thanks for posting this information. It looks like the rear carpet is fairly easy to lift up to install the new retainers. The ones on my cargo divider were missing when I purchased the car so it will be good to get it secured.
9/28 - Just ordered three retainers, two for the divider and one...
Bruce, do you have any way to track down this TSB to see if it offers us a solution, part numbers?
From rom previous thread:
"I know this thread is a few months old but, there is actually a service bulletin to replace these retainers with a new style. The service bulletin is 08-08-110-010...
Been there, done that, no joy! Don't know about the TSB in the last post from the thread below as I have no way to access it.

That's sad, but the XLR has been out of production for 5 years now and many of the XLR techs have moved on. The same thing happened with the Cadillac Allante when it's production ended in 1993. I wish there was a way to still track these guys down wherever they are employed now.
I would definitely recommend Lindsey Cadillac in Alexandra. Can't remember the name of the XLR certified tech now, but I did speak with him on the phone several times when I had problems with my XLR.

Thanks for the invite, wish we could make it this year, but already have another trip planned (without the XLR unfortunately, had to settle on renting a mustang convertible).
Thanks to Bob and Paula for some great memories from past gatherings!

I had all 4 shocks replaced. The fronts were AC Delco 580-135 which did not include sensor. As a result, the Service Ride Control message is on the display. I read posts on other sites suggesting placing a terminating resistor on connecting leads would fool the computer that sensors were...
Thanks for the close up pictures to see what is actually in a sensor.
Potentiometer likened to the rotary volume control of radios from the 1940's through 1960's. Stone age technology in today's era of robotics with rotary shaft encoders, optical encoders and hall effect devices, etc. If...
Bruce & Kathy, your enthusiasm for the brand, the car, and it's owners has been great fun. We have really enjoyed the opportunity to participate in a small number of the 52 events and appreciate all you have done to keep waving the flag! XLR owners and enthusiasts make great company.
I wonder if you can put a 2007 or later ECU in a 2004 - 2006 and then have the ability to program it? There may have been other changes in the electrical system to prevent this, but it sounds like the only possible alternative short of buying a later model.
Welcome. Glad to have you aboard. Apparently the 4.4L XLR-V is easier to tune than the 4.6L in the XLR. Jesse at Wait4me tuned my XLR-V and I am very happy with the results. Better performance and it still gets 28 MPG at 75 MPH!
The repair was done under warranty back in 2009. The dealer replaced the power sterling pump and the pulley assembly which included the bearing and bracket. I do recall that I was told the bolt that holds the pulley on is a one time torque to yield type. I found my spare belt, but I ordered it...
For a while D3 had made a different ratio intermediate pulley that goes on the front of the power steering pump so you didn't have to go with a smaller pulley on the supercharger. Seemed like a good idea, but if I recall it was over $1K so I decided against it. The bearing in my stock one...
Well the 19167704 is too big to fit the part that sticks up from underneath the carpet so I have struck out, just wasted my money. For now I'll just do without the ones in the trunk for the cargo divider and storage compartment in the floor.
I tried one more time ordering from the XLR drawing...
