I did a search and could not find anything on this topic. I had my hydraulic trunk and top pump replaced with a brand new one about two months ago. Now I am having two issues, 1) trunk will open about 6" and then just shut.... 2) trunk will fully open and then slowly start to close on its own...

Very much interested in the drivers side upper seat cover and the drivers side sun visor (if it is black), would appreciate pictures if possible. Thanks in advance......

Trying to get some help for a fellow XLR owner in my area. He purchased a 2008 Platinum Edition XLR a few months back and has been having issues with dead batteries. Recently he went to his garage to take his XLR out and the car would not start and he saw 2 messages in the DIC the first was...

Thanks for the speedy reply, mine is starting to show signs of failure. Thankfully its not a discontinued part, but it costs over $1000.00 on most GM discount parts sites.....I can imagine what the dealer will want.....:cool:

Is the hydraulic pump for trunk and top available, it is the pump that resides in the drivers side trunk compartment. It controls the trunk and top.

If you are willing to travel to the East End of Richmond (Varina) stop in at Haley GMC on S. Laburnam Ave., talk to the service writer and have either Brian or Trey have a look at you car. Both are very knowledgeable and diligent, and are the only techs that I allow to work on my XLR.:cool:

Sounds like a good idea.... What I did is hooked the extra set of cables that came with my trickle charger directly on to the battery. I then fished it through the windshield wiper well. The cables have a cover attached to them.

Problem solved he was able to get to the hot wire on the alternator, hooked a jump box to it and the car came alive.....and all is right with the world (at least for now). Thank you to all who have replied and tried to help. :cool:

Went over to my friends house today and tried to get the trunk open, but to no avail:dunno:. He turned the key and I attempted to get the trunk up.....several times. He mentioned to me when he picked the car up earlier in the year, he said the dealer said there was some bumper damaged and that...

Gotcha.....I guess I am not hip.......lol.:cool:

A friend of mine owns a 2008 Platinum Edition XLR over the weekend we had a 3 day cold snap....temps dropped to zero. Needless to say his battery is dead. He tried to open the trunk using the bumper valet key to no avail. The owners manual is a bit vague on how to do this. Should the trunk just...

From what I understand, it will not work on a base XLR, The sensor for the "adaptive cruise control" sits behind the plastic lens, on the drivers side. Cadillac XLR V's do not have "adaptive cruise control". On the XLR V the transmission cooler resides in that area, if not mistaken.

Definitely interested in the drivers side sun visor and the the door sill inserts (if you feel like attempting to remove them) and I am interested in the top outer roof skin/panel. :cool:
