True - notwithstanding that the UK buys more luxury and sports cars than other countries in Europe it is not a place to drive - bad weather; bad roads and omniscient photo radar. So here I drive a Smart and it is fine for me. When I want great food, California weather, among the best roads in...

No there are very few XLRs, STSs and CTSs. They get a lot of looks - especially in Italy. It is the kind of car design that Italians, a nation of car lovers, really like and also because it is so different to what is on the street. And Italy and Europe is the place to drive it - the roads are...

Now that I have figured it out Ill add a few more: The first one is a stop in February 2010 when I drove it from Antwerp down to Rome. That is a stop on the A4 Highway from the South of France to Genova. The second photo is a stop at a gas station and you can see the accumulated salt from the...

    Adaptive Cruise Control

ACC I rarely use it although I love having it - reason? I am too busy keeping the car between 120/150 mph as I drive up and down the highways of Italy, Germany and Spain. At those speeds it does not really work.

    Euro spec rear lights...

CTS-V Hi Hans, Long time no hear. I just bought a Euro CTS-V (2013) and am picking it up in Germany next week. Are you anywhere near Frankfurt on the 13th of November? I am picking it up at the dealer and driving it to Rome where it will join its 2008 STS-V and 2009 XLR (and Escalade)...

Motor Trend Review: Cadillac XLR-V: Flat Out

I used to ski in Vail and once drove on I-70 in a blizzard at a rate of speed which if I repeated today would give me heart palpitations - ah youth! Anyway I was trying to locate roads on a map but am having trouble. Im always looking for great driving roads but perhaps you can be a bit more...

Motor Trend Review: Cadillac XLR-V: Flat Out

I have driven the Passo dello Stelvio (the photo) in a C6 Corvette - beautiful scenery but hard work. For a great and challenging drive one of the best roads is the Autostrada dei Fiori in Italy. This is the highway that runs from the border with France down to Livorno. I have attached a link...

Motor Trend Review: Cadillac XLR-V: Flat Out

XLR IN EUROPE I can relate to the comments in this article as I own a 2009 XLR which I shipped over from the States to Europe. I just picked it up a few weeks ago in Antwerp and drove it up to Amsterdam and then down to Rome - all in all 2,000 miles in 5 days - I drove the highways and byways...
