Filled the fuel tanks. Started the car and the fuel gauge shows approx 3/4 tank. I was told the fuel level sensors in the tank were bad. Had BOTH sensors replaced at the Caddy dealer. He tested them and said the new ones were working. Filled the fuel tank. Started the car and the fuel gauge went...
Long shot. Does anybody have the schematic for the stock antenna setup? It would be the one stuck to the trunk lid. I need a 12 volt source for a rear view camera. Assuming the antenna module has a "switched" 12 volt source.
I'm sure people have taken a tail light out. Question is, does the outer lens (red part), separate from the inner part with the leds etc. Like unscrew or unbolt?
FWIW, if you take ONE of the battery cables off and put an amp meter between the battery post and the cable, you should get very minimal current draw. DON'T start the car with this hook up. Also, take off the charger before. Don't know what the reading should be but if it's a couple of amps or...
My last post was about #2 fuel tank. Reason I needed to know was the fuel gauge was at 3/4 full all the time {recent development). Tech II said there's a problem with #2 fuel sensor. Read the posts about Teckron additive. Figured I'd try that first. Put the big bottle in and ran the car around a...
OK guys, makes a lot of sense. One more question, which tank is #2? Tech II says #2 fuel sensor has a problem. Not ready for that bill. I think if I had an exact layout of the trunk floor and tank position, I'd cut a hole in the trunk floor and make the job a lot easier.Just sayin.
I understand why the two tanks. I don't understand why there's a fuel pump and sensor on each tank when there's a crossover line connecting them. The fuel level would be the same on both tanks. If not, what happens when you fill up your car?
Just a thought. Why would an engineer design a car with 2 fuel tanks WITH a crossover, then put a separate fuel pump and sensor on each tank! What is the point! Lets just over-complicate things to **** you off. Sorry for venting.
No offense but you remove the stock head unit AND the cd player. Look down a few posts below this one. You'll see 2 posts by me. Pics of the wiring and plugs are there. One post right after the other. The stock head unit and the cd player go in the basement on a shelf. Ian is correct about the...
DB, I found these. As I said, the wiring diagram for the pioneer shows the power antenna lead. That triggers the bose amp.
How do I post multiple jpg's These would be the actual connections.
DB2, The only thing different is the head unit. All the trim around the radio is stock. Also, cruise is not affected at all. I saved all the install instructions as multiple jpeg's.. I just have to figure out how to post them. On the same note, can you just look up somebody's posts? Might be quicker.
This would only be for an aftermarket stereo. Being that the stock antenna is wonderful (junk), has anybody tried the aftermarket unit sold by Carid? I don't want that goofy shark fin thing.
Custom Autosound(R) - Amplified Hidden Antenna
I installed a pioneer avic 7200 nex in my 04. AS stated, no old head unit in trunk. It uses the stock Bose amp triggered by the power antenna lead on the pioneer. A few jumpers on the cd plugs and a steering wheel adapter module, simple. Hardest part is the esthetics, The pioneer is slightly...
