long tall sally, When you say "you are going out ", I assume you mean Southern California. I have a friend that has been to Jay Leno's garage and I am bugging him to get a little tour but I don't think that will ever happen.

Bill S. I am not so sure that's necessary. I have had my current motorhome for over 10 years and the slides are hydraulic. The fluid has never been changed and they run great. I think with these XLR tops if they run fine I would just leave it..

Jame, It would be great to have a list of service techs in both the U.S. and Canada that can work on our XLR's. You have many more specially shops in the U.S. than we have in the Great White North. I'll bet there are at least a half dozen shops in CA. that specialize in Corvettes. I can't...
James Landi, I have an excellent Cadillac dealer in Southern California. They have sold lots of these vehicles in their day and have a couple of really good techs. Even my service writer is very knowledgable with this vehicle. At home in Canada it's a different story . I have no confidence in...
JohnnyB. I agree. My 06 has 90,000 miles on it and I want to change the tranny fluid and I am not sure what fluid to use. I have heard you can't get the original fluid any more and people that have changed the fluid run into problems. My transmission runs perfectly and the fact I only put 500...
Steve, I don't know what you mean by a clunk when it closes but mine makes a thud kind of a noise. It's just the weight of the top coming down on the top of the windshield locking into place.

DTPantera, Welcome to the group and you will really enjoy your new ride. I pass through Vegas at least twice a year travelling from Palm Springs to Calgary. Maybe we will meet one of these days. I have an 07 V and it has been a real fun car.

thoukaitis, You have made 30 posts, Cubby has made 2743 posts and nerkpowers has made 526. Rexster314 has made 1341 posts. I would say those folks are of more value to this group than you. I would say it's time for you to get along or go away.

Jentgens1943. Ok no problem. If and when one of my XLR's breaks a headlight I will just throw the car in the scrap heap. You sound like a real smart a**. And do you own an XLR ?
John F.
Jentgens1943 , With all due respect you are giving a great Corporate response. I don't care. All GM has to do is release the patents for the headlight and tail lights and everyone would be a happy camper. These XLR's were a flagship Cadillac and not be able to get these two important parts...
Gene, You are really going to enjoy your new ride. As you read this forum you will read about trunk leaks and the controllers for the top getting waterlogged and damaged. What I did a few years ago was put a plastic sheet on the left side of the floor of the trunk. Under the carpet there is...
