That's Great! Sounds like wrecking yards are finally figuring out if they price the parts out of the insane realm the insurance company will fix the cars.
The original radio was analog only. You needed a new module that would connect to a digital carrier onstar uses now, since the old one was no longer supported.
There was a TSB from many years ago, and they would swap out the module free if you pre-paid a couple years of onstar...
My suggestion would be to pull the FOB apart and put some non-conducting plastic under the trunk open button. You will lose the use of it, but probably better than having people take stuff from your trunk..
I still wonder if it is accidental pushes or the RCL doing funky stuff. 2004 had...
Federal Regulations are how the executive branch implements laws congress writes. Most auto standards are rules written after Laws are passed. Laws don't usually have enough technical information in them to spell out the exact rule, that's the job of the governing body (like the NHTSA) to do...
I got this in, and here's what I found.
It has that rubbery coating on it, the one that Ferrari owners hate because it gets shiney and degrades with time on parts that they no longer can get. (good thing there's at least one company that will refurbish them!)
The stereo opening is standard...
I was pretty sure they would fit late 2006 and after. The right manifolds are different part numbers from 2006 on from GM.
Now you need a CAI. Somewhere there's a post someone said they got +35hp with that combo on a dyno.
I would stop wasting money at this dealership. Unless they are not charging you for all the re-tries. Throwing parts at a problem only costs you, not them. How much money do you have available to throw in the pockets of this dealership?
From what my father has told me, as an OEM sales person, they make as much per piece on lower volume parts.
As I've said before, all auto manufacturers pay the OEM makers for making the tooling, and the manufacturer retains ownership of the tooling. They do this so an OEM parts maker can't...
I'll make you a bet Mikey, if I show you a third brake light made in china by GM for the XLR, you pay for the tooling to have new headlights made. If I can't, I will. LOL
(I wouldn't take that bet though, If I where you. :D)
Seriously, it was before your time. It was big news around here. GM...
Does the DIC in the instrument console say "NO FOB FOUND" when you push the start button? You can get in to the car and have that happen, the entry antenna and start antenna are seperate.
How old is the battery? Strange things happen to the XLR when the battery is marginal.
Did anyone check...
